Hoping for Van Dyke "cockney" accent.

I'll be seeing this in theaters with my family. I only wish my grandma wasn't completely out of it due to Alzheimer's. She absolutely loved Poppins, and Andrews in general.

I have a 6 year old girl who loves the original MARY POPPINS. And hey, I have two ears and a heart... so do I. I'm all in, especially for a recasting of Lin Manuel Miranda in the Dick van Dyke role. And Emily Blunt is one of my favorite actresses working right now.

We'll probably see it Christmas weekend.

Reviews are allowed to be published later today. With all of the award buzz, they should be pretty good.

I won’t see it in theaters, but I may rent it one day.

And then hate myself for liking it because it’s going to be one of like 10 movies in the next 12 months where Disney makes a pile of money trotting out old ideas in a new wrapper.

Definitely. This is the only thing my wife has been really excited to see this year.

I wasn't a huge Mary Poppins fan before, but I might check it out one Tuesday on $5 movie night here in Austin.

Nope. It’s tied with Aquaman. Critics are dogging it for being a rehash of the original.

MP's rating average is 7.5/10 while Aquaman is 6.3. The percentage doesn't make them tied at all.

A few critics have complained about the story not being very original. But they all seem to love the acting, style, songs, etc. while saying the plot is well executed. I wouldn't call that "dogging".

A Star Is Born - a remake of a remake of a remake. Critics go bananas over it.

Mary Poppins Returns - a remake of a movie from the 60s. Critics criticize it for being a remake.

MPR isn't a remake, it's a continuation of the story.

Yeah, and I think critics were hoping for something more different... I suppose like Christopher Robin.

Yes, my little girl turns 6 first week of Jan and wants to have her party with some friends watching the movie. She already knows most of the songs from the soundtrack.
