I'd categorize it as a whimsical comedy sci-fi mystery with pathos? Pretty good so far. Found myself chuckling quite a few times already - which is refreshing as funny shows are rarely funny these days IMO.

Youtube: Upload - Official Trailer - Amazon Prime Video (2min)

I'm 4 episodes in (of 10)... The vibe so far is a a healthy dose of:
The Good Place (lots of little cgi effects to make the "reality" real)
Better Off Ted
Search Party
The New Girl
After Life

Plus a pinch of Death Becomes Her & a touch of Her.

Anybody else watching this?

ETA:

The first episode is 1hr... after that they are 22-35min/each... So it's an easy binge watch.

Will have to check it out. I finished watching the 1st season of The Expanse Wednesday, and started the new season last night. Put it in my list, and might check out Upload after that.

GREAT show. It gets better. Prepare to have your mind blown.

I can't wait for season 5. When they wrapped up filming for season 5, the actors were treated to the first half that was ready and they all said it was their best season yet.

Just finished the first episode... it’s pretty good.. feels a lot like The Good Place, but a little darker.

Good list, we were trying to figure out how to describe it and couldn’t decide

We’re digging it three episodes in. Feels very different than anything else out there right now. Sitcom feel but definitely deeper than most of that genre.

Took a bit to adjust to the feel of the show but we’re all in now.

The work they are doing to just barely cover up nudity is exceptional

Like when some bare arse naked chick is riding some dude like a racehorse does it really matter at that point if a few strands of her hair is covering her nipple (especially when they are cursing up a storm as well ).

So maybe add old school Cinemax to the vibe list

ETA: The actual Upload process was shockingly hilarious

Binged it yesterday and I enjoyed it. It’s well written, easy to watch. It’s not going to be anyone’s greatest show ever, but it’s worth the watch.

Yeah it’s official, we’re loving this show.

Watched four last night and had to stop ourselves from just finishing it so we could get another night out of it.

It’s just such a cool concept that they’ve pulled off really well. The production value is great and we’re really enjoying the sitcom vibe that also has a light mystery and solid romance to it.

And Andy Allo has really grown on me

Not sure why but that body was not what I expected from her when I first saw her in this

I'm halfway through and really digging it. I like that it's a lighthearted easy watch but has the underlying mystery storyline throughout as well. I'm excited to see how it ends up and find out what really happened

I'm at episode 7. I wasn't sure if I'd like it that much after the first episode, but it grew on me after that. The acting is good and characters are interesting. I like the over-arching story too.

I love the shock-comedy scenes with exploding heads and what not, especially with Creed's cameo for the download part.

We watched the 1st episode the other day and it was...not good

the acting was horrible, the production just seemed super cheesy

it just screamed was of those terrible SciFi shows from the early 2000s

I love VR, they did a good job with the tech when they were showing living people using it.

Watched it all yesterday, really enjoyed this show, hope it gets another season.

It's not big budget, so you got to give it some slack for acting and CG.

I think most of us felt unsure about it at first. Like we all said, it just had a different vibe.

I definitely think it found its legs and got better, but the vibe either works for you or it doesn’t. I can see why it’s not for everyone

This is one of the few shows that I've really liked, but been able to stop binging for the night and still wanted to continue the next day. Like, if I'm truly in binge mode, I find it really hard to stop. But The past few nights, I've watched a couple episodes and then saved the rest for the next day. It's nice.

Yeah same. We wanted to stop after Fran’s car situation, but had to watch the next one to see what happened.

The funeral scene was great. Made us Team Fran

The show wasn’t that amazing or groundbreaking, but I could not stop watching. Finished in a couple days and was actively looking forward to watching the next episode. Can’t quite put my finger on what hooked me. It was like a tame Black Mirror episode stretched out.

This is a good description. This isn't prestige television, but it was enjoyable to watch. They built an interesting world. The depiction of near future tech was great and there were lots of quirky side characters.

Just finished Outer Banks. Gonna give this a shot.

Just finished the first episode. I enjoyed it. Definitely some good laughs. And I thought it was done well. Has a good feel to it. Gonna watch the second episode then call it a night.

I just can't agree with this at all. I only watched the first 3 episodes, but I enjoyed it the whole time.

But we all have our own opinions.
