Anybody besides me sorta had it with Stranger Things?
I haven't, but I was pretty massively disappointed in the first 4 episodes of S5. So much so that I haven't even read up on the discussion thread yet because I feel like if I posted anything it would almost all be just bitching about how bad they were. I just assumed most people in there were gushing over the show.
But the wait between seasons is so stupidly long that it has made me basically lose most of my interest. I still like the show, but admittedly I am mostly watching now to see how it ends because I've invested my time into watching it up to this point (and it used to be awesome).

Nah. It's good man. You should finish it. Now, it could end in the shitter, and it wouldn't be the first time it's happened to what many would consider a great show. But, Vecna was only really introduced in S4, if I'm remembering correctly, so that hasn't been overplayed at all. I'm hopeful his overall arc is wrapped up nicely in the second half of S5. Also, the demo-things are kind of a major plot point of the whole series, so it doesn't feel stale. I also feel like their story line has evolved enough to keep it fresh. The kids dialogue is cringe at points, but they are total outcasts and nerds, so whatever. We don't have those 80's mall/music vibe scenes in S5, yeah, but Hawkins suffering by the masses now, so makes sense. Season 2 the worst of em.

I stand by my belief that they never planned on a 2nd season. They ran out of ideas. Replayed S1 over again, tried to get 'creative' in 3, finally got their groove back in 4 and then... this just feels like they're paying off a debt so they can just bury this series once and for all.

ST ended in Season 4. Eddie closed the portal and everybody went home. The cop invested in some therapy for 11. She is now well adjusted and "that girl" all the circle of kids hook up with at some point in their teenage years.
This is how it ended in my mind.

I lost interest back in season 2 or 3.

I still haven't watched an episode from this season and not sure I have any desire to. Was mostly good while it lasted.

Is it though? Not many people in the town seem to mind.

This. I was fading out after seasons 2 and 3, but last season was a banger. Loved all the Russia stuff, and RIP Eddie!

I watched the first season not knowing what I was getting into and thoroughly enjoyed it. Never watched any episodes after that.
From the reactions I've seen, I think I'll just pretend it only had one season like I did with Westworld and Invasion.

I never got past the 2nd season. Tried again recently with the new season coming out and again lost interest 2 or 3 episodes into the 2nd season

Season 1 was great and super nostalgic. I had hopes for season 2, but it fell flat. I’ve tried a few times for season 3 and 4, but I just can’t.

If the ending lands. It will be one of the greatest tv shows of all time.

Im just glad I didnt waste time watching the last season. Too long since the last one and you could tell it was going to become super gay based on the last season and so it became gay.

Show went absolutely no where. They recycled the exact same shite, meanwhile the kids got way less relatable and endearing. They are all off-putting freaks.
It's an absolutely terrible show and has been the last few seasons

They definitely shifted the focus off the main 4 as they grew older. Some simply can't act, which becomes more apparent as the years go on.
So far, this isn't as bad as S3, at least not yet.
It's just disappointing, is all. I don't think it's awful, but they're clearly taking the easy path in ending this story.

Seems like y'all are in the minority. It broke the viewership record for netflix for an english language tv show and the IMDB ratings are the highest for any season the first 4 episodes.

I'm in the same boat, but perhaps am missing something. I feel like they fight and kill the same thing each season then start the next season all believing its gone only to slowly find out its back again, then kill it...rinse...repeat.
Remember that season of heros when they is shoved one of the good guy’s memories into the bad guys brain then expected you to watch until he started killing again?

The finale of season 4 is one of the better episodes of TV in a really long time. All those people who bailed before that are missing out
