I'm about 10 episodes into hunter x hunter. There was something familiar while watching it, with the art style and general feel of the show. Looked it up and it's the same guy who did yu yu hakusho. I knew it was something.

Is there a thread for Dragon Ball Super?

LINK
This is the running Dragon Ball mega thread that has been going for like 5 years. It is used for general dragon ball discussion for all series. I haven't been following it lately because I am behind on the Super series. I have only watched like the first few episodes and the two new movies. But anyway, it is my impression that most of the recent discussion in that thread has been about Super.

You can watch them for free on Crunchyroll with ads. Or do their free 1 month trial and bust them out.
You want the last 48, 125ish to 140ish are amazing.

That's the main thing I hate about the movies. They just bust that wild left turn on you with the eclipse in movie 3. The only bit of supernatural you get is the meeting with Zodd in the first movie.
I think the 97 series and the manga start it much better. You start with Guts missing his left arm and right eye, all in black on a path of vengeance. You get glimpses of the supernatural with Guts beating great odds through his determination and will. You don't really know why he is the way he is at the beginning, then it jumps to his childhood and you follow his life all the way to the eclipse with only a handful of moments of supernatural through meetings with Skull Knight, Zodd, and Wyald. Then at the end of the eclipse it's more of a "Ok I get it now" as opposed to a "WTF just happened"
ETA-The music in the original 97 series is so much better than any of the other music

I recommend Noragami, Parasite, Attak on Titans and Tokyo Ghoul

Hey Can someone help me identify this anime?
This is what I can remember:
1) It is a Gundam Anime
2) The good guy at one point falls in love with the bad girl
3) During one scene, he uses his gundam's lightsaber to melt a glacier and they hot tub together in it.
4) I think the last episode, if not just a later episode, they appear to die together but in the credits are shown limping away in a tunnel, holding each other up.
Anyone have any idea what show this was? I've been looking for a few of the shows I used to stay up late as a kid to try and catch on the Original adult swim but I can remember very few of them. Those crazy Gundam shows used to be some of my favorite TIA

How old is the anime? Can you describe the protagonist or his lady friend at all?
Posted on 5/29/17 at 7:19 pm to VaBamaMan
I remember watching around 10 years ago or something close to that. I think the lady friend had a brother that was the real bad guy possibly and I think i remember a gundam they use being more round shaped?

If that's all you remember I have no idea bro. Sorry dude.

Was it Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team?
Made in '96.
I think it might fit.

Anyone been keeping up with Hero Academy? This weeks episode was absolutely insane with good character development.

Just to make sure everyone knows the show you mean. It's called "My Hero Academia" in English, and it's fricking amazing. Best show of the last year, imo. Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash had the title for a bit, but the second season of MHA has been nearly perfect. Show has tons of heart, fantastic characters, and the action/powers fit everyone perfectly. It's a truly brilliant show.
