Oh. Maybe two won't be going home. I should pay closer attention.

Avalon and Tristan both have voices and personalities that I enjoy. For some reason, I am never affected by Dalton's performances.

I'm confused about how many go home each week, but I heard Ryan mention that this was a shorter season, last night. First I've heard that.

I have liked Dalton, though I didn't think last night was a great performance.

Tristan really stepped it up last night. Does she have a slight wondering eye? There are times when I think her eyes look strange, but then I wonder if it's because they're so dark brown. She's such a pretty girl.

La Porsha is talented, but I guess I don't get excited about yet another big voiced Aretha singer because while I appreciate her talent, I don't find myself drawn in by her and I'm really tired of hearing the judges declare who is going to win. I'm beginning to hope it's someone totally out of their vision.

I love Lee, but he's not going to last much longer.

I'm afraid MacKenzie may have dug the grave with the song choice. I kept waiting for it to go bigger and it never did. As soon as I read that song choice when it was posted, I worried about him. I want him to stay.

I liked Trent better this week than I have before.

I'm not much of a fan of the other girl with the dark hair whose name starts with an "s". I can't remember the name right now. She didn't bring it on that song.

I'm afraid Olivia's illness last week affected the vote and her song this week was totally underwhelming. She didn't sell it well and I wasn't buying it.

Avalon was excellent, but I also thought Gianna had a home run and I thought the judges were going to pick her, actually.

I've always thought whoever is in the bottom of the vote should go home. I hate that twitter vote to save people too. They did that last year.

i like what harry told her about the makeup. wonder if idol pushed her into wearing it?

exactly. it may well have turned out the same way. but, this way makes it seem shady.

If this show was a human being I would pay good money to be the one to drive a stake through it's heart.

That's what I told a friend of mine. I was looking closely last night and it was hard to figure out.

I can't remember her name for some reason. I keep thinking "saliva". It's probably because she hasn't been on my radar that much.

I'd sort of forgotten about that. She hasn't been on my radar at all since live shows started.
At least, not until last night. She did definitely look different.

She mentioned reading comments about how she looked like she didn't care. She looks great with just a little makeup and color and with her hair fixed neatly. A little goes a long way with her. She doesn't have to be a glamour queen to look nice, but she looks washed out to me on that stage with no makeup. The lights etc... don't do much for someone without much color. Even guys get some color put on them under the lights so they don't shine and look like the walking dead.

She's sang at least two guy songs about girls. I know she's a tomboy, but is she gay? Doesn't matter. I'm curious, though.

I thought so the first time she sang about a girl, not only because of the lyric, but also because of the way she delivered it. Two songs in a row make me think she definitely is. It shouldn't hurt her with the vote, right?

I still love Trent, even though I don't think last night's performance was his best. I realize not all of you love him, and I also realize my choices don't make great American Idols. I mean, I thought Carrie Underwood was too generic and I loved Fantasia.

I'm with you, I think Trent is the best one on the show. Not sure how some people don't see how incredibly uncommon it is to have a great voice, at that level, that is also different from pretty much anything else out there. He legitimately keeps taking songs I've never heard of and makes me love them. Last night honestly might be the first song of his I knew, which is probably good because I think he's going to really catch momentum at the right time, I look for him to really ramp it up over the next few weeks.

I don't, however, understand the love for Dalton. I fail to see what separates him from every other boy band.

Did they say there were only 5 weeks left?

If so, that sucks because it feels rushed

If history holds true both Sonika and Avalon have no shot. Sonika is from Marthas Vineyard and Avalon is from Southern California. Contestants from small towns have a HUGE advantage.

I was wondering about that earlier today. Basically the entire state of MS is interested because we have 2 in the top 8. Wondering how big of an impact that ends up being.

Trent abslutely killed it this week. He is a uniquely talented singer.
Really going to miss Olivia. She had such a powerful voice - it just seemed easy for her. But her song choice did her in.
Sonika was amazing last week but a letdown this time. To me, she has the most beautiful voice tone in the competition and more than competent range. Song choice is crucial to her - she needs to stick to slower songs that showcase her tone.
Dalton is over rated. If it weren't for spikey dyed hair, he wouldn't have made it this far.
The Lion King had another great performance and has incredible range and runs, but every year there is a big Aretha-type singer, and they always fall short.
Mackenzie needs to go back to the bakery - he was weak this week.
Lee's talented, but his youth and inexperience is evident. Won't last much longer, but someone needs to sign that boy. A talent for sure.
Tristan does have a bad case of Britney-eye, but is still adorable and had a brilliant performance. She's a "total package" girl.
Avalon had an ease about her but isn't exciting at all.

I have no idea. I don't know the makeup of the typical voters. Wouldn't matter to me.

Adam Lambert came in 2nd his year.

My darn cable isn't playing or taping AI for some reason. Other channels are working, though.

You can watch full episodes online, but you might have to wait a day or two.

Thanks, Darla. I checked On Demand and I can watch it there over the weekend. I know the outcome because the broken up pic came back, but I couldn't hear anything. The only thing I saw was Dalton's performance, but then it broke up again before the comments.

I was glad to see MacKenzie made it through. He must have some real support going on. Sorry to see cute Lee go, but he was there longer than he probably should have been. Such a cute guy.

I figured the judges would save Sonika even without hearing a single note from any of the three.
