The producers didn't want that extremely talented fat girl going through. I thought she carried that douche Constantine in that song, so I figured the fix was in when they panned her for that performance.
They obviously are money grabbing since they had the episode last night where they had the contestants play shite songs the whole night. Then tonight they bring back former idols (whom they still get a cut of at least some of their album proceeds). All of a sudden everybody is killing it. I mean, come on. Tonight was a complete farce set up by last night's abysmal performances.

This week's duets were far better than last week's overall. Last week, the judges were much harder on the duet performers, I thought, and with good reason.

I agree, but you missed my point about what I was saying about the solo performances from the night before.

Ok, fine. That was just one song and we can agree to disagree because that performance put her in the relegation zone. I'm not mad that she was eliminated. She deserved to go home as much as any of the 5 that were sent home.

Judges pissed me off talking about her "performing". this girl can flat out sing and this is a singing competition.
duets were fun . was happy to see olivia with cook. i think that't the only one i got right in the earlier post.
big girl should have done a rock duet with daughtry. that queen thing was horrible.
daughtry and dalton duet was really good.
still can't stand manny. thought it was funny that he kept getting up on his toes.
red head should have stayed over the "quirky" blonde.
the other guy that sang with jordin stared at her boobs the whole time.
daughtry was like he was in the competition all over again. love that he celebrated when his to duet partners made it through.

I still think Sonika has the best voice as far as tone, and Olivia has the most effortless "big" voice. Tristan is the total package though, and is a lock for top 3. Spiky haired dude gets the teenybopper vote and is likely top 3 as well.
ETA:. On the first remark I made a comment to my wife about one of the former Idols trying to outshine the contestant, but after thinking about it I think they should. I'm sure that AI did this more for the promotion of the former Idols than they did for the current contestants. But I think the contestants need to show that they CAN hang with the former Idols, thus no need for the oldies to hold back.

My personal guess is that since she made it to the top 20 on the Voice, they wanted her gone sooner on Idol so it looks like the competition is "tougher" on AI

There is something about Lee that is so sweet and special, but he just seems so inexperienced. I hope he sticks around so we can see his performances mature.
I agree that Avalon was terrific. Looks good with hair and make up, but I hope she also lets someone guide her to a better wardrobe. I know she wants to be herself, but it's SHOW business.

I'm with you on Manny. I thought he should have gone home last week. I just don't get the Manny love. He's not bad, but I don't find him nearly as good as the judges do.
Darla, I'm with you on Lee. I just love his personality and while I think he's a far cry from getting to the finals, I want to see him go farther and get better at it. I think his nerves get to him.
I was okay with the top 4 because I think they'd be there anyway. They aren't my top 4, but they'd make the top 10 one way or another.

I think we can all agree Manny doesn't really belong... "stage presence" can only carry you so far.

Well, my top 10 are exactly who made it to the top 10. Some I don't care much about, but I'm really pleased. I had Manny, OTGMG and Jenn in the bottom with a likely Tommy Stringfellow or whatever his last name is. For whatever reason, I rarely remember his performances. I'm glad Lee made it. I was afraid he might go.

Tristan will lose if she keeps trying to sing country songs. If she can get back to the audition Tristan she'll win running away. I'm not so sure anymore now.

Tristan was great last night. Not as good tonight, though.
I love MacKenzie. I find myself immersed in his performances for whatever reason. I've been a little distracted with most of the others.
La'Porsha is so good. Really good and she should make the finals. However, I am totally distracted by her hair. It makes me scratch my head. It's just too much. I wasn't listening to part of her song because I kept looking a the hair and thinking how awful it is and what she could do to it that wouldn't change her too much, but anything she'd do would change her, for the better, in my opinion. Gosh, it just makes my head itch.
