Maybe AMC might not feel the need to charge more for THE BATMAN if the studios hadn't left THE BATMAN as the only major theatrical release for an entire month...

Uncharted came out two weeks ago.

It sounds like you're one of those rare elitists that is too poor to build their own home theater.

Isn't it like a 3 hour run time as well? I have no problem with them increasing the price $1.50 per ticket for big releases and longer movies. This isn't some 90 minute kids cartoon.

I was considering going to see it in theaters, this just cemented watching it at home.

AMC is by far the worst movie theater chain in America. They treat movie goers and movie lovers like shite and it’s a total ripoff. I’ve boycotted AMC since like 2014. Just a garbage, garbage chain.

Shocking that so many people are offended by a company for pricing for what people will pay. This is a luxury, not a necessity.

Alamo Drafthouse, Regal, and Cinemark aren’t doing this shite, and all three of those chains are way better than AMC. In North Park in Dallas they charged $15 for a single Bud Light. That chain is a disgrace and haven’t been back. They’re the fricking worst and once tried to make it acceptable to talk in the theater to attract teens. Alamo will throw you the frick out immediately for doing that shite, which is why I love that theater chain.

Yea. Every AMC I’ve ever been to was a rundown POS. Terrible seats. Terrible lighting. Terrible screens.

They have by far the best movie subscription. A-List is $19.99 a month and you get 3 free tickets a week with no restrictions to type of theater. You can use them for IMAX, Dolby, whatever..just one Dolby ticket is like $15. You can even go see the same movie all three times in a week if you wanted to. Its a no brainer if you like going to the movies more than once a month.

As long as people shut up, I don't care who is there. I'd stop going to the theatre on principle alone if they jumped it to $25. Isn't minimum wage like $7.50 an hour? It'd kind of suck to have tickets so high that it wouldn't even be practical for a kid, or anybody for that matter, working a normal job not be able to afford going to a theatre.

Perfectly put; nice sentiment. Plus you aren't going to keep obnoxious people out by making a ticket $1.25 more.

The Disney World strategy. More expensive pricing, more expensive food at a lower quality

I have cinemark and a local place here in CenTex. I can do a matinee for $5 and a 24 oz beer (shiner, blue moon, or other “premium” for $8.). That’s with a reclining seat.

AMC is a joke.

Lol not even close. With Regal Unlimited I get to see unlimited movies for $21 a month as long as movie times don’t conflict (can’t book a movie for 1 pm and then another for 2:10). If I want to see a movie in 3D, I just pay the difference in the ticket price. I get a 10% discount on concessions and free items for my birthday.

They already have high end theaters for that. A slightly better seat at an AMC isn't worth the extra money and I say that as somebody who usually goes to the AMC theater at NorthPark in Dallas.

If I'm going to pay a premium I'm going to a Cinepolis.

Trying to charge me extra for a better seat in one of their theaters is asinine. It's not the same as going to a live event. The movie will play a hundred times over the week and it's always easy to find a day where the crowds are thin.

Maybe i don't go to the movies very often anymore, but is this really a big problem for you that you want to pay more? It's not like concert tickets, or paying to get in the VIP. It's a freakin movie theater.

This is why we joined A-List.

Seeing it tonight in Dolby. Will probably see it a couple of more times, in Dolby. With all of the movies I see this month, the average ticket price will be well under $5 for me.

The theater viewing experience isn't $25 better than my at home on my couch viewing experience. No way that I would pay extra.

You won’t see this movie for years then. After theaters it will be only on HBO MAX
