He's in the vanguard of show runners who hate the material they're supposed to be presenting.

See: The Witcher, Snow White, hell anything Disney the past five or more years.

They hate you, the fan, the most. And will do whatever is in their power to destroy everything you loved about the material.

Welcome to Hollywood in the modern era. ESG and The Narrative uber alles comrade!

All of Rands women are 5/10 on a decent day in the show. It's so obvious it was done on purpose.

Who knew when Jordan was describing the beautiful women, the image he had in his mind were butter faces.

I watched the first 10 minutes of season 2's first episode, it was bad. So, I stopped watching the show.

I like Rosamund Pike but I couldn't get into the other character actors.
Stopped watching after about 5 episodes.

Why? Is there a correlation between not being brainwashed and having poor entertainment taste?

I haven't read the books...
so, are these supposed to be beautiful women? Like an 80's B flick, where you ignore the cheap effects because the babes are Baywatch-level hot?
Yep, they aren't trying for that.

I am not trying to be mean or insulting, but some of these gals are pretty ugh. I'm not even talking about the plain ones that maybe can be fixed up, there's a few with unfortunate genetics, that you can't do anything for. I mentioned one, the blonde chick.

Her face looks like a trapezoid, where the widest part is the bottom. Her jaw is wider than her cheeks. And then her eyes are set too narrow. It honestly looks like she has some sort of HGH disorder.
I see she's a Tony Award winner, so I'm sure she can act; but you're lying if you don't instantly notice how bizarre she looks.

I mean, she looks like this

I can't be the only one who sees it

My wife and I watched that Channing Tatum vehicle "Step Up"

The main chick there had the same square face as that chick.

I couldn't hear anything she said, just staring at her weird face

That’s wild that there was absolute zero buzz for this. I wonder if rangs of power s2 will have a similar fate

and that's something that falls on the showrunners who cast her.

You can say it's unfair, but that's just the way it is...
as stated, she's won a couple Tony's. She obviously is very talented if that's the case, probably more talented than anyone else on the set.
But a Tony is for stage productions, like Broadway. You see her at a distance, and mostly you see her costume and hair color, and the hint of stage makeup.

A TV production is different, you're going to have closeups where her face fills the entire screen (and almost everyone now has at least a 50" in their living room). It's borderline cruel to the actress to do that to her- if you look her up in google images, a lot of the time she does stuff with her hair to try to hide that jaw. You can't do that here.

I doubt it.

There's a difference between Wheel of Time, and Tolkien. I haven't read WoT, although I'd heard of the books. I didn't notice much advertising before season 1, until maybe a month or so before it came out.

Tolkien's works are basically a genre unto itself. The LOTR books are considered classics, the movie trilogy is up there at the top of movie lists. It pulled Oscars despite coming from a genre that was normally excluded from consideration.
We saw a huge buzz years before it was made, as soon as it was confirmed it was 'a thing'.

Season 1 was underwhelming to say the least, but I suspect there will be interest to see if they are able to course-correct in season 2.

She was good in Harlots (Hulu). That’s just the set of her face. And while she played a prostitute (dominatrix specifically) in Harlots, I don’t disagree that she wouldn’t be someone I’d cast in a “beauty” role. She’s a good actress though.

I don’t think the show creators believe there is anything that needs correcting. It’s diverse and nothing like the books, so their mission is accomplished

You would think Amazon realized they messed up when more people are concerned about Season 2 of Invincible, compared to millions of dollars wasted on something people aren’t watching.

You must realize by now that the people making/ruining these shows and movies think it’s the source material fanbase that’s the problem, never them. So no lessons are ever learned

All you have to do is watch Disney. Their stock is collapsing as investors see the future is not looking good.

But does Bob Iger see all this and course correct? NOOOOO, he doubles down on all the woke garbage. And blames fans for being homophobic/sexist/racist/capitalist and climate change denying shitbags.

It is going to get much worse before it gets better. And the strikes are going to keep dragging on.

Watch these studios go begging the feds for another bailout.

I watched the first 3 episodes of season 2 this weekend.

It's an order of magnitude better than season 1.

Not entirely sure what all they changed between seasons, but it seems like there's a lot less greenscreen and more location filming. Everything feels more "real" if that makes sense. Everything is dirtier. More genuine. The stakes feel higher.

The dialogue is much better as well. Not nearly as cheesy or Star Wars'y if you know what I mean. The conversations feel more natural and the responses seem more authentic.

The entire tone is darker and feels more dangerous.
