This retort always bugs me. Making this thread doesn't mean he cares about Infinity War.

I don't care about Infinity War, and making this post doesn't mean I care about Infinity War.

I'd disagree.

Caring is probably a problematic word. "Interest" maybe? "Attention?"

Creating something, either original or in response, is a social/outward marker to publicly classify oneself because something is important enough to warrant the creation of the thing, in the case, the thread. The OP wants to put himself into a group of people that "don't care," because he sees the value in doing that, in effect, caring about the reflection of IW on "the culture" at large.

Someone who truly doesn't care, wouldn't read about it, and wouldn't post about it. Even a marketer will tell you, even if you just click a link, that shows interest. They may lose you at some point, so they'll just retool until they keep your attention. Attention is "caring."

No. That is pretty much impossible.

There are without a doubt other people who don’t care about it either.

What a stupid question.

The other guy made a valid point, OP likely (well, assuredly) cares about other posters thoughts/feelings/opinions. Which is why he started the thread to begin with, to hear other's thoughts. But again, simply saying you don't care about something doesn't mean you do.

I'm trying ot think of the most boring, useless, mundane, irrelevant thing I can right now. "I don't care about the thickness of the card stock stored next to the printer in our office". I mean...truly, I honestly could not possibly care less about that subject. The fact that that thought just briefly whisked across my brain, and my typing what I just did, doesn't now make me care.

Burnt out on super hero movies, especially Avengers stuff. Zero desire to see this movie. Will Netflix it when available and nothing better to do.

I too am burnt out on super hero movies. However, I watch them all in the end. I might go see this in the theater, but coordinating with my friends has been problematic on it. I can't make the times they are going.

And my wife isn't going to see this.

eta: my biggest draw would be getting the guys together to see a movie. After they popped out a few kids, this only happens 1-2 x per year vs once a month before.

My interest in comic book hero movies is so low that I've never seen one.

You're not alone. Most Americans will not see this movie.

we also have idiots that can't differentiate between being interested in hearing other posters' thoughts on a subject, yet not be interested in the subject matter.

interested in the thoughts of the subject matter is interest in the subject matter whether it is good or bad interest.

Am I the only one that doesn't care about low budget black and white films about WWI filmed in Siberia with no subtitles?

I guess by your logic I actually have a whole mess of interest in that very genre right?

If you made a point of starting a thread about just that, I'd think "well, you cared enough to randomly bring it up".
In this case (superhero movies), you care, because you are getting overloaded with the large amounts of such films coming out. That's a negative reaction, showing you DO care.

A true example of not caring would be to simply ignore references on forums etc, and to tell people in real life "I don't care" when THEY bring the topic up.

Yet it's going to be one of the most highest grossing movies of all time and will be making a strong challenge for number one.

This movie is that good.

The problem for me is I'm just too far behind on all the other movies to catch up. Ive only seen Iron Man 1 and Guardians of the Galaxy out of them all.

I’m not a fan of all the superhero movies either. I feel like there’s a new one every weekend.
