Probly because it’s the most overrated show in history. It’s not a bad series but it doesn’t come close to belonging with the group it’s always put into and certainly isn’t the greatest show ever.

I watched one random episode. When I realized Aaron Paul was a series regular, I never watched another one. He’s a horrible actor.

it absolutely is overrated.

It had so much built up fanboi fervor that it beat True Detective Season 1 for all the awards.

That tells you how BB had and still has way too much hype. Just look at the downvotes here. BB fanbois are like religious disciples. They're fanatical in defense of it.

The "Breaking Bad" guy was hilarious in those few episodes of "King of Queens".

But it drags in places and Walt’s character is pretty depressing. He’s just a lying sack of shite with no reesming qualities.

There are great shows where most of the characters have no redeeming qualities. You watch knowing that they are all pieces of crap. House of Cards is similar to this.

Part of the fun of Breaking Bad is watching the characters gradually devolve over time into their worst selves. Walter White did start making his Blue Meth for good reasons (at least in his head). If you keep watching, you get a tiny bit of redemption for some. Sometimes (but not very often) drug dealers have a good heart.

The subject matter. Glorifying drugs and crime. The whole 'he's making $ by cooking meth, but it's for a good reason ' excuse, for one. And the 'Mafic chic ' story line

If you had actually watched the show, you'd see it's not at all this. Instead, it shows how bad they can actually be. There is little to no glamour. Yeah, there's a ton of $$$. But it eventually isn't even about the $$$. It's about the pure greed and just how low some can fall.

Yeah, but it is some of it, the basis of the show, right?

And doesn't Krystin Ritter's character die of a drug overdose?

Pass.

I confess, I've not seen that one either. And for no good reason, other than I've not taken the time. Only heard great things about it though.

Yes, you’ve made that clear. Multiple times. What exactly are you trying to achieve in this thread?

Jesse was the only halfway likable character on the show

Jesse grows on you as the show goes on.

I always liked Mike and Saul in the show

Yes, I did make my point clear - once. And then I followed that up with answers to questions I was asked. Consider this my last entry into the thread, and go have yourself an awesome day!
