Oh yeah, I'm sure we haven't the last of Gendry. Until then though, we should all be rallying behind Stannis the Mannis.
don't get me wrong i'm behind The Mannis

You might know more than me because you read but I don't see the Gendry storyline coming back
there's still no resolution in the books

Hmmmm, this is true, but I always kinda thought that was just a BS excuse for Robert sitting on the throne. Isn't the Targ connection pretty thin? Like a third cousin on his gradmother's side or something?

1) Yes, it is. And out of the chaos of all of these usurpers fighting for the throne will rise the one, true king.
2) Literally one of the biggest themes of the show is that bad things tend to happen when rulers don't listen to their advisors, or are given poor counsel. Stannis is wise to heed Davos, as he has yet to steer him wrong. And he's wise to heed Mel, because she is a servant of the deity that has been proven to exist. Get real, son.
3) Covered in 2.

There's a difference between hearing them out and doing whatever the frick they want him to do
He's like President Walker on House of Cards.

I haven't started HoC yet. =(
I really don't think he blindly does whatever they say, I just think he listens to their counsel because it's always good. Their advice gave him an army, increased his wealth, and led him to the true enemy at the wall. I really think the Stannis Camp is the ONLY one in the entire show that sees the big picture and ACTUALLY can save Westeros.

Oh, Stannis has a hilarious dry sense of humor in the books too that hasn't come across as well in the show. He always has a snarky comment for whatever is being discussed.

Didn't Davos convince Stannis to leave Mel behind for the battle of the Blackwater? I gotta think that Mel would have sniffed that trap out easily.

Davvos-"she's evil, leave her behind for black water"
Stannis-"ok"
Red lady- "he left me behind and you lost, you must in prison him"
Stannis- "ok"
Red lady -"he let Gendry go, kill him"
Stannis -"ok"
Red lady "wait no, we will need him later on, don't kill him"
Stannis- "ok"
"And instead of invading Kings Landing, we're going to the wall"
Stannis- "ok"
I think Mellisandre is taking you and Stannis for a ride. She's got ulterior motives IMO. She's using someone with a shattered ego to get where she needs to go

Mel believes stannis is Azor Ahai reincarnated. She serves him.
The vision she had to send stannis to the wall to fight the Great Other furthers this belief

That's what she claims. But she wouldn't be the first person on GoTs to lie and manipulate for personal gains

Not really. Going to the Wall and appealing to Braavos was Davos' idea. Davos is the best advisor to any of the kings in the series for sure.

I wasn't saying that Davos's plans are terrible, I was saying that he always thinks Stannis/Red Tits plan is terrible

It is not a question of wanting. The throne is mine, as Robert's heir. That is law. After me, it must pass to my daughter, unless Selyse should finally give me a son. I am king. Wants do not enter into it. I have a duty to my daughter. To the realm. Even to Robert. He loved me but little, I know, yet he was my brother. The Lannister woman gave him horns and made a motley fool of him. She may have murdered him as well, as she murdered Jon Arryn and Ned Stark. For such crimes there must be justice. Starting with Cersei and her abominations. But only starting. I mean to scour that court clean. As Robert should have done after the Trident.

Davos told Stannis not to bring Melisandre to King's Landing. Had she gone she could have used her magic to turn the tide and maybe stopped the wildfire incident.
