I think they are going to have to explain why the brother didn't mention that there was atleast one creature around capable of the carnage that they all came upon just after reuniting with the sister - and that he was pretty sure that wasn't any 'bear'.
I wonder if they won't have exactly that happen, but the other specimens that were collected prove to be a considerably more difficult challenge. Unless they are hoping the audience will take some gigantic leaps of faith, they are going to have to work this out somehow.
Yeah that stood out to me as well. Pretty cliche of plot device used throughout Hollywood, but kind of glaringly so here.
On a side note: I really like Lily Newmark. A former model turned actress, and had some decent success at it so far.

Otherwise, the show ends 3 minutes into the next episode when the alien runs to the super-synth chick like a buzz saw

Why didn't the xenomorph kill the brother just as instantly as it killed everybody else, including trained/armed security personel???

Alien looks odd and not quite as good as the movie designs. The new small alien creatures are lame so far. So, SO diverse. The response team looked like they picked them up from a fricking book club at the library. They’re supposed to be soldiers???
I really, Liked this analysis.
The response team seems like they will all get slaughtered

Just finished Episode 1. Liked it well enough. Will try to get through Episode 2 tonight.
I will say I actually liked how they showed the Xenomorph breakout on the ship. The first scene we see that they have a face hugger and the next time we see the ship all hell has broken loose and almost everyone is already dead.
I kind of appreciated that. We don't need to see why or how it got loose, just that it did and always does.
Not sure if Episode 2 or future episodes will show what happened but I was kind of okay with that.

This MFer is starting out like John Wick with the early kill count, not a wait and see Alien.

I was actually pleasantly surprised with just how good this show looks. I’m a sucker for anything Alien but I was skeptical going in…
But man there is some movie quality arse shots and production and costume design on this show. Those shots of the crew driving to the ship crash site were incredible. They dumped some $$$ into this show

Both episodes have been pretty solid. Handful crying on this board about it, but people will cry about anything these days.

The brother identified the really bad code for foreign bodies, was attacked by an alien twice and shot. His actions after all of this make no sense.

I am a little sad at the world building.
As someone who’s been reading the Alien RPG rulebook and LOVES alien isolation …. I was hoping they’d incorporate some of that lore into the show.

TERRITORIES OF THE FRONTIER While dominated by the United Americas, the Frontier is an area intersected by several nation-states. An uneasy alliance exists between them, yet territorial disputes are not unheard of. What follows is a listing of the major government players vying for resources there. THREE WORLD EMPIRE: Consisting of the former United Kingdom, Japan, and several developing countries, the Weyland-Yutani corporation itself is a result of the formation of the Three World Empire—created when the UK company Weyland Corp merged with the Japanese Yutani Corporation. The Three World Empire pioneered space exploration, controls many long-established inner colonies, and only maintains a limited presence on the Frontier— allowing Weyland-Yutani to take the lead there.
THE UNITED AMERICAS: Created in the early 2100s to compete with the expanding Three World Empire, the United Americas was formed by the merger of North, Central, and South America into one nation. The United Americas is a major colonizing and starfaring power, constantly expanding the Frontier. They operate both the Colonial Marines and the Colonial Navy-the most powerful peace-keeping forces on the Frontier.
THE UNION OF PROGRESSIVE PEOPLES: The UPP is a powerful socialist block of systems that control a vast but resource poor sector of space. Formed from a coalition of countries that includes Russia and Vietnam, the UPP is the only government that is not influenced by corporate concerns-a fact that sometimes puts them in opposition to Weyland-Yutani. While they are behind in the arms race, the UPP still maintains a formidable fighting force. A state of cold war has existed between the United Americas and the UPP for decades, but with recent events on the Frontier, all that seems poised to change. THE INDEPENDENT CORE SYSTEM COLONIES: The ICSC is a loose conglomerate of privately-owned worlds. Each colony in the ICSC has its own government-many of which are corporate-owned. In addition to its operations within the colonies of the United Americas and the Three World Empire, Weyland-Yutani is known to maintain private interests in the ICSC-where they can conduct business as they see fit, far from the prying eyes of government control

That game was incredible. I heard rumors of them making a sequel.
quote:
A sequel to the acclaimed survival horror game Alien: Isolation is in early development at Creative Assembly. The announcement was made on the 10th anniversary of the original game's release, and the same team that created the first game is returning for the sequel. While details are scarce, the sequel is confirmed to be in "early development" with more information to be revealed later.
I was hoping for Alien Isolation Lore as well. Its gunna be great to see where this TV series goes.

The issue with the show is pretty straightforward. They’ve established these new super synths exist that can perform feats that would make spider-man jealous.
except they have the mind of children. a fighter jet can do a lot, except if a 12 year old is piloting it.

I'm really digging the show - the casting, the set design, the music.
Also, when the BBC and whatever streaming partner get Doctor Who figured out, they need to give the guy who plays the young trillionaire a call. (Maybe they ought to give Noah Hawley a call too)

Yeah, im waiting. I get burned out with commercials and short attention spans

We’ve been watching it on Hulu so no commercials.
I thought this episode was better. Took out poor boy’s lung to incubate that baby. fricking yikes.

Really enjoying the show(sans commercials) thus far.

Also, the Ginger girl is going to have a full on break. It's like her mind is rejecting her body (almost like body dysmorphia). Interesting to see where they take that.

What’s a scared boy do when he sees a scary bug? He stomps on it and squishes it. That’s the equivalent power level difference they showed from the super-synth chick casually jumping 250 feet off the side of a cliff and landing on her feet like it was nothing.
Based on the physics alone, that means she could easily squat 50,000 pounds and bench 25,000 pounds.
The alien doesn’t stand a chance.

This is hot garbage. Tried to give it a chance, but the 'boys' acting so oblivious to everything that's around them, the crashed spaceship, the aliens... Oh, and the fight with Wendy and the Xeno?? WTF even was that?
'Oh sure, drag it over to the door and have your brother, who's already been impaled, get up and press the button on the wall!'
What's on the other side of that door? Don't know!
How do we know it'll contain it? Beats me, but we're gonna try anyways!
Perfect plan!
This writing is beyond retarded.
(And remember... All these interactions and conversations with the synth boys, the cyborg security chief and all this other stuff is happening inside a CRASHED spaceship about the size of an aircraft carrier at the base of 2 large skyscrapers, but the ship's fine, it's got power, most of the lights are on, systems functioning, etc...)

I noticed that too. I wonder if the brother is getting an upgrade or if they were able to save him. The first two episodes I was iffy on, but this one got me really into it. My favorite character is Timothy olyphant so far. Also, my only gripe so far is that smee and morrow look like the same dude. Bad casting there.
