According to Bujinkan[7] members Ninja Jûhakkei, the eighteen disciplines (jûhakkei < jûhachi-kei) were first stated in the scrolls of Togakure-ryû. Subsequently they became definitive for all ninjutsu schools by providing total training of the warrior in various fighting arts and agarter.

Ninja jûhakkei was often studied along with Bugei Jûhappan (the "18 samurai fighting art skills"). Though some are used in the same way by both samurai and ninja, other techniques were used differently by the two groups.

and I love that we're breaking down TMNT.
Although we disagree on the correct answer, and everyone who is saying anything other than Raphael is dead wrong, we can all agree on one thing here:

Well, that too. All arguments against him have not been related to his actual fighting ability. Poor decision-maker, yes. Great fighter, that too.

Raph is the man. Er, turtle.

for the record, this thread was meant to have only 2 source materials, the 2 live action movies from the 80s/90s

the 3rd has been stricken from my memory

This. Most people assume TMNT was cartoonish and for kids. The first one was darker and it was awesome. The second one was more kid friendly, and the third just sucked horribly.
Leonardo was my favorite turtle. But if I needed one of them to have my back in a bad situation, it is definitely Raph.

Awesome thread

Yes. And as was pointed out numerous times in this thread, it has nothing to do with his fighting ability.

If you look at all the turtles, they have their major strengths and weaknesses. No one really trumps the other all out.

All of those things added to his fighting ability.

you were not old enough to enjoy TMNT at the height of its popularity. GTFO with that hindsight analysis

Uh...Raphael WAS the best fighter out of all of them. That was always an undertone to the movies. He knew it and Leonardo knew it. That's one reason why Raphael would get angry, he didn't fully respect Leonardo because Raphael knew he was a better fighter than Leo.

Watch the latest animated movie for proof. The writers went all out and made Leo and Raph fight. Raphael smoked Leonardo pretty badly.

Correct answer. Can't believe this is up for dispute.

Anyone else go see the stage musical of TMNT when you were a kid? Yeah, I did.

not only did i go see it, but i have the tape AND the behind the scenes making of the musical on tape

Burger King was the best fast food place for TNMT. Their toys were totally boss. I think they had videos too? I could have sworn my tape of the Hot Rodin' Teenagers episode was from BK

it's one thing when acne boy posts in 90's threads about how awesome the 90's were even though he was all of 4 years when the 90's started. It's another thing to join in on a TMNT thread and act like you know something.
