As awesome as that is, what's the point?

If it was involving a minigun, it might well be a very short scene.

How long has your son been out there? After the storm when the Cypress house stopped serving steaks on weds some friends and I used to pitch in and cook some steaks and treated some of the teams to steaks. Those guys helped the areas out a lot right after Katrina too.

I saw it today. Good movie. Not academy award stuff, but a good solid movie. I recommend it.

Just got home from watching it, its a solid movie and can hold its own with comparable films.

What I got from it was nice quality action, pretty well put together plot, some dialogue seemed awkward but that's to be expected being as how they are SEALs and not actors. IMO those things brought the movie down, but also brought it up at the same time because you knew the guys were real people, not Hollywood.

He was there shortly after Katrina. He is still there. He is a boat leader and has 32 operators under him.

I just pretended I was watching a documentary or something and thought it was awesome. The interrogation scene on the boat was hilarious too. There was some corny dialogue, but some of it was ok. The rescue scene in Central America will not be topped by anything as far as action goes.

I didn't think the acting was any worse than you get from some supposed action "stars".

Exactly. Vin Diesel, Steven Segal and Sly Stallone wouldn't have did much better to be honest.

Saw it tonight. Great movie. People at my viewing applauded after the credits rolled by with the names of fallen Seals over the years.

It's been a long time since I've been in a theater and that happened after the film was over.

But since you go in expecting bad acting it's not a big deal and the action scenes exponentially make up for it. They tactics used in the movie absolutely blew me away, also knowing that the mean in the film have actually done these types of missions before makes it that much cooler.

Bottom line, if you are a red blooded American and you don't get an emotional prideful tear welling up in your eye at the end, there is something wrong with you. This movie hits all of those buttons and will make you want to stand up and cheer.

my thoughts exactly. I was not expecting much from the trailers on tv. It far exceded my expecations with how well planned out the tactical scenes were.

I just don't understand what more people wanted with this film. Great cinematography, amazing special effects, a well worked plot (based on true events) and the SEALS did a great job of acting in their own right. There were no over sights in terms of actual tactics and warfare. The ending made me feel as moved as I ever was at an actual military funeral.

Act of Valor is one of the best genuine military movies of all time. It depicts the process of battle drills almost flawlessly, hand and arm signals, you can tell the SOP's they established were outstanding and genuine. Now the "acting" may have been on par with Brazzers, but just the tactical side itself was 5 star worthy. Great movie.

Finally went to see it last night, and I was thoroughly impressed with all of the action sequences. I was not blown away by any of the SEAls acting, but I wasn't expecting to be. That said, I thought they did a pretty damn good job considering what they were actually trained to do and what was asked of them for the movie. I will own this movie when it comes out on DVD.

In the first swcc scene where they are showing the boat leader communicate on the radio there is a guy standing behind him driving the boat. That is my son. He is in the movie a total of 9 seconds.

Anyone going in not expecting award worthy acting will enjoy this movie. I assume most people headed to this movie are already a fan of military movies and the actual firefights and action sequences would be enough for them.

sorry if this as already been asked, but did the SEALS actually do any of the acting?

I thought they were going to be kept anonymous and used for the stunts and stuff like that, I thought there were actual actors too?

all the SEALs in the movie were actual SEALs. The actual actors were in the other roles. The head Mayan from Sons of Anarchy played a Cartel leader and Roselyn Sanchez played a CIA operative. The CIA guy is also a pretty recognizable character actor, but I couldn't tell you his name. The bad guys also look pretty familiar.
