There you go again, saying that if you pick a political side, you are a "simpleton".
I know you think by "being on the fence" makes you smarter than everyone else, but even you - when you vote - pick a side.
So, does that make you a simpleton?

Proof of how out of touch, miserable, and dishonest Jimmy was, not so long ago.
He can go F himself with a rusty blunt instrument.

Except that's not what he said at all.

This is a very insecure statement.

He said,"yes it's a simpleton mindset". If you have a simpleton mindset, you are a simpleton.

That is your opinion. But, the person calling someone insecure, is usually the one that is insecure.

You are really going to post a Rolling Stone link? They have proven over and over again that they will do anything for clicks.

Yes, regarding you saying "Everyone has a side", not

You put words in his mouth that he didnt say with the above quote. You aren't inherently simple if you choose one side to follow. You are simple if you believe everyone must belong to a side.

In the hours leading up to the decision to pull Kimmel, two sources familiar with the matter say, senior executives at ABC, its owner Disney, and affiliates convened emergency meetings to figure out how to minimize the damage. Multiple execs felt that Kimmel had not actually said anything over the line, the two sources say, but the threat of Trump administration retaliation loomed.
Two sources familiar is not anyone at ABC on record and may not even be anyone affiliated with ABC.
Multiple execs just means more than 1 and could mean 2 of any number of executives.
This in no way, shape, or form means the following:
quote:
ABC has now been on record of saying they didn't think his comments were a fireable offense however the added pressure by the FCC forced them to. Now we have the president trying to get NBC to fire their own hosts.

Rolling Stone?
A Rape on Campus
Discredited Rolling Stone article
"A Rape on Campus" is a retracted, defamatory Rolling Stone magazine article written by Sabrina Erdely and originally published on November 19, 2014, that describes a purported group sexual assault at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. Rolling Stone retracted the story in its entirety on April 5, 2015. The article claimed that UVA student Jackie Coakley had been taken to a party hosted by UVA's Phi Kappa Psi fraternity by a fellow student and led to a bedroom to be gang raped by several fraternity members as part of a fraternity initiation ritual
Totally on brand for you though.

You must have missed the first post when he or she said people that pick a side are simpletons, like picking who to cheer on a pro wrestling match - good or bad guys.
Again, if you vote, you pick a side.

First point, do those who are upset about the firing not realize that Kimmel; being fired for the Karl Malone impression would actually be "cancel culture," while this is about something different. It's obvious.
Second point, I find it ridiculous that people take the words that Kimmel said verbatim without realizing what he really said. As usual, the Left is using the twisting of words to project certain cultural ideas they wanted implanted in people. It's why he talked about the Shooter and MAGA the way he did, he tacitly implied the shooter was a MAGA guy - which plays into this ridiculous false narrative that "We don't know the motive." We do, it's quite clear. Occam's Razor and all.
On that point, thirdly, the Leftist media are garbage, can't everyone admit that, and even this framing:
Points to possible ulterior motives. If they vaguely create an image of Trump as part of this, and fire Kimmel while releasing a phrase like that, all of the Progressive goobers will take this hook, line and sinker and start talking about freedom of speech, and dictator Trump and we are back to square one with Left vs. Right.
Notice it's "threat of," not "threat from," which are two vastly different ideas.
The media is the enemy of the people.
And Kimmel should still be fired for being part of it. But he shouldn't be fired for Karl Malone, THAT would be cancel culture.
But yeah, I see the Progressives are back to claiming the Right are anti-free speech again. Well done, ABC, well done.

No, I didn't miss this, but I understand that he isn't saying if you pick a side you are simple in and of itself. He's using the pro-wrestling comparison to describe how there is nuance in real life events as opposed to wrestling when there is an obvious good guy, an obvious bad guy, and that's as deep as it goes.

Not anymore. Maybe in the 70's or 80's.

If you dont understand the difference between free speech and consequences from your employer then I dont know what to tell you.
I respect that you think what you said is tantamount to what Kimmel said. I disagree.
One is expressing an opinion by means of a “joke” about the president, which is literally part of your everyday job as the host of that show, and the other is telling your employer to frick off, which Kimmel did not do.
I simply don’t see those as equivalent.
I also don’t see it as equivalent when the president has been suing multiple news outlets for defamation, causing them to clam up. And perhaps rightly so. If they defamed him, that’s against the law. But the legal burden is very, very high for that and purposefully so.
And the Vice President has tried to motivate others to go to the employers of people speaking to try to get them fired. That is at least bordering on the government chilling speech, which is against the First Amendment.

There's just no leg to stand on when a sitting President can repeat the "very fine people" hoax with no media to call him out on it.

Eh, I don't disagree, but we need civility and who is going to bring it, and encourage it?
