The Alamo Drafthouse Houston has shite the bed once again, and are not showing it. I'll have to go mainstream at a Cinemark, as I refuse to go to that ghetto arse Star Cinema Grill.

I don’t think Alamo has released the showtimes for this weekend yet. I only see one movie (Drop) playing at mine this weekend.

Houston consistently doesn't update their app or Fandango until Tuesdays or Wednesdays, which is annoying AF. I can see via drafthouse.com that DFW already has their weekend schedule up, including Warfare, but Houston has repeatedly not decided to screen the one movie a month/quarter I've wanted to see, at all.

Meh. I've lost all faith in Garland. He's another Shyamalan that came on strong with his first few films then shite the bed with the last two.

From the trailer anyone that doesn't know a universal truth about war will know by the end of the movie:
MOUT sux.
If I could, I would call in 1,000 sorties before taking a single step onto a street with buildings on both sides.
Not sure if I will see it in the theater, I learned with BHD I sometimes need a breather.

Has there been a good War on Terror movie besides The Hurt Locker?
American Sniper and Zero Dark 30 are the others imo.
Was unimpressed with War Machine
Lone Survivor was a kick arse movie.

The AR-15 military cloners on Reddit seemed to be pretty impressed with the overall set pieces from the camo patterns down to the actual equipment they’re all using.
How are they allowed to exist on Reddit?
Just saw the trailer for this movie before opening this thread and I’m in.

It’s a terrible war on terror movie.

Damn didn’t Civil War just come out last year? Garland has been a busy boy.

Talk to Me
I suppose their best known director is Garland, but also Eggers, Lowrey, the Daniels, Aster, Sean Baker are also in their stable.

I'd add 13 Hours if it qualifies.

1/2 through the movie it will morph into a dream sequence that only the best acid dropping liberal arts students can even attempt to comprehend.

Not a movie but a mini-series on HBO called Generation Kill. Pretty damn accurate portrayal of a Recon unit going into Iraq during the invasion, but doesn’t have a ton of battle scenes if that’s what you are looking for. Mainly just the play by play and it is real. Throws a lot of actual Officers and Senior Enlisted under the bus. And backs up. Surprised it was even greenlighted by the USMC since several of those were still active when it came out on HBO. It was actually based on a book written by Rolling Stones reporter Evan Wright who imbedded with one of the platoons.

I liked The Outpost and The Kill Team. Plus there is the HBO limited series Generation Kill that is the best of them all in my opinion.
Don't see how anyone could not like, or at least appreciate, Outpost. May not have added anything to one's mental image of horrific war, but it's another story of absolute bravery. Also not sure how one cannot come away angry at the people who designated that spot as a base camp. Incomprehensible.
