**SPOILER**

She was already a Grammy award winning artist before he offs himself. So while I agree it was a self-sacrifice, she was already pretty big-time.

Few thoughts..

Both leads were fantastic. If Cooper wasn't actually drunk when doing some of these scenes, even the more impressive. It's an emotional ride, like many have pointed out the scene where he brings her on stage for the first time will give you chills. When he slams that garage door shut, it punches you right in the gut.

While both BC and Gaga will probably get Oscar buzz/noms, Sam Elliot stole every scene he was in. Dice was also very good in his limited role.

I hadn't seen any of the earlier versions of this movie and don't plan on it. I think it will be the most impactful for the viewer if you don't know the ending or have pre-determined expectations

Sure, but I guess the point is that she was on the come up then... but that last performance made her.

frickING CRIES in this movie. Has he ever cried in a role?

Cooper NAILS a panic attack laying in bed with GAGa before she leaves.

I've never been in a more silent theater at the end of a movie.

I am a big fan of Gaga’s voice and was super impressed with her on AHS and like Cooper as well and Sam Elliott is a classic. I also liked the acting of all 3 in this and I think Cooper did a good job directing. But I still left the theater feeling pretty much unaffected when I had expected there may be tears and the feels galore. I would call it a good movie but it just didn’t pull at me like I had thought it would.

Saw it last night. Never saw the originals. My GF knew as soon as the placard showing nooses at the beginning of the movie how it was going to end.

Still overall, quite an amazing movie. Lots of sniffles in the movie theatre when it went dark.

There's a ton to talk about as far as how the movie was presented and what not. Will wait a little longer for folks to see it.

This should win some awards.

When are the Oscars and Globes? If they release a movie too early it gets lost. The Johnny Depp movie about Whitey? Lot of buzz when released, but then nothing.

This actually wasn't Oscar worthy. Ok movie, but not Oscar worthy.

Can't believe this has just an 84% by the audience score on RT.

You have to factor in the 1-star skews from anti-Gaga fans that haven't seen it.

I don’t disagree but it was Johnny Depp not being a pirate so it got some chatter.

So which song gets the Oscar and /or Grammy nod?

The obvious track is Shallow, but would some elitist-ish panel like the academy nominate final song instead...

I also think the entire soundtrack gets an album of the year nomination. It's the best ost as a whole and since Purple Rain.

A really dumb question here, but was that Bradley Cooper actually singing or his voice heavily enhanced?

Shallow was the better moment.

I'll Never Love Again is the better song.

On the soundtrack, "music to my eyes" almost sounds like Rocket raccoon is singing. Which, I guess, he is.

Black Mass? That wasn’t even close to Oscar buzz compared to this

Not only was it him singing, but they weren't recorded in a studio and then lip synced..they were recorded live on stage..Lady Gaga insisted on that

But vocals were cleaned up or some over dubbed. No?

The final song there is a second where she is behind the words. But then your can hear the breathing and the near cry.
