the permanently offended politards reactions after it. Jack Black was 'blacklisted' anong the "go woke, go broke crowd"

And thank you for reminding us all once again, not that you needed to, what an insufferable d-bag you are.

Now, you COULD have simply stated the facts, or referenced your page 3 post, but no, you had to add your 2 cents. Casually making light of assassinating a political candidate, who had already escaped on shot to the head, has zero to do with 'go woke, get broke', in the least.

But then you can't help but be you.

BTW, was the "sneak preview" for Superman before the movie the same as has been on the internet this week?

Yep

Lol your crowd is the one that brings politics into every movie thread. Someone posted a snow white picture and started talking about "the message" like it has anything to do with this movie.

Then you get pissed when i point out this movie is doing well despite yalls attempts to cancel jack black

I thought the movie was stupid, but my 11 y.o. Enjoyed it. I don’t understand the random clapping or chants throughout the movie.
Maybe hollyweird will realize America wants family movies again instead of rated R movies

Sorry, but real life events happen. Just ask Rachel Zegler.

They may have made a trash movie, but the Minecraft brand and Jack Black's cred with many of the same demographics as liked his Kung-Fu Panda movies are clearly still enough to draw in an audience.

And no one I'm aware of tried to cancel Jack Black. Tenacious D did cancel or suspend its tour, but that was likely due to Jack taking preventative measure because he knew it could potentially dampen his upcoming Minecraft movie.

This had zero to do with 'wokeness', at all. Making light of offing a political candidate, no matter who it is, should cost you.

But your retarded view on pretty much everything is one constant in the universe, at least.

Wait wait wait. You're talking about when Jack Black's bandmate joked about an assassination attempt on Trump and said he wished the shooter had better aim?

You think THAT has something to do with...woke? How stupid are you?

ETA: Just so we're clear, Jack Black cancelled the rest of that tour and publicly the denounced the statements made. That is the appropriate way to handle anyone around you who makes such heinous statements.

Wow! Such a damning and devastating nation wide cancel campaign!

1 guy on a message board who got 13 upvotes ( and 6 downvotes).

Net approval - 7 upvotes?

RIP Jack Black's career, I guess.

Dude is just straight up lying. If Jack Black hadn't publicly denounced the statements made and cancelled the remainder of the Tenacious D tour, he'd be persona non grata right now. He handled the situation appropriately.

No. Post any evidence of any widespread movement to avoid this movie because of Jack Black.

The thread you linked is literally about him cancelling the Tenacious D tour.

Lesson learned? Jack Black being Jack Black doesn't so much affect tweens buying tickets to a Minecraft movie.

Minecraft is a huge draw.

But it’s pretty much the 37183rd nail in the coffin for the “why don’t they make original movies instead of adaptation and sequels” crowd.

Again, you are posting screenshots of reactions the day after this happened. Jack Black did what he should have done in this situation. There was never any widespread movement to cancel him or blackball him because he handled this appropriately.

You are imagining things.

you don’t think this movie did well because it has an enormously popular IP tied to it?

Of course it did, but the only argument I ever see related to "why don't they create a new IP instead of adapting an existing one" is when they adapt existing IP and change everything about it for "modern audiences." Example: Wheel of Time, Snow White, Rings of Power, Cowboy Beebop, etc.

I don't get the issue with sequels so have no comment on that.
