Spotlight was terrible. None of the characters were believable except for Keaton. Ruffalo, who I usually like, was GODAWFUL and the story was extremely repetitive, predictable (even accounting for the fact that it was a true story), and devoid of suspense.

gotta be trolling

It's only Catholic bashing if you conflate Catholicism and Child Rape.

Come on, did anybody honestly think that Leo was NOT going to bring up climate change and just motorboat Winslet?

Y'all are getting pissed that something you knew would happen actually happened. And at least he was brief about it.

Wow. May be the worst statement on a movie in recent memory

People who probably haven't seen the movie are the ones calling it out.

SJW's only need a subject matter for them to get on the soapbox.

I'm a Catholic and I actually enjoyed Spotlight. It is a story that needed to be told. But at the same time, I don't expect people to believe or understand the healing that the catholic community has been undergoing since that story came to light.

I'm Catholic and IMO people like you are part of the problem. The Church covered shite up and its fricking shameful. Boo hoo if it hurts your feels when it gets called out. IDGAF that it's also problem with other denominations and religions. Sorry it gets your panties in a twist but perhaps you should focus that anger towards exposing the fricks that diddled little kids ehh?

Actually there were quite a few surprises tonight.

Good for you?

I don't know why anyone would be excited that 95% of the show was spent beating a dead horse about 13% of the population.

The whole issue is that the statement made on the stage assumes that the Catholic Church hasn't done shite since getting busted turning the other way to the abuse.

This

I'm Catholic and anyone who is getting mad at spotlight or thinks it's just the academy wanting to bash Catholics are people who just want to be mad at something. It was a great film that spoke on a very real, very terrible actions by people throughout the church.
