I would have put money on Sly Stallone

Kinda unhappy he did not win it.

Yeah. In fairness, I didn't see the other movie but this was Stallone's shot because it's not like he's going to get a lifetime award for Cobra and Demolition Man.

I guess he'll have to make do with the model wife and 9 figure bank account. Life can be cruel sometimes.

Rylance's performance was a distant third for me between Stallone and Hardy.

Hardy sure, but Stallone...no.

Leave it to Hollywood to give it to the communist spy, over the guy that beat the crap out of the communist boxer.

from what I remember. I didn't think he had a chance against Sly and Hardy.

Neither did Anthony Hopkins in Silence of the Lambs.

Considering Hollywood was pretty pinko commie in the 60's and 70's, not that shocking.

Leo has the "wanna be Hollywood environmentalist but don't really care, just want to feel important around other sychofants" vote in his back pocket.

Anyone else find the supporting actor thing weird? Wtf? Bridge of Spies was a middling movie and he was supposed to be an also ran. That win confounds me.
