The older I get, the more I relate to Michael Douglas' role in Falling Down...

Well, that’s not good, because while there are funny bits in the movie, by the end, he was pretty pathetic.

Actually it is good because he cared, as we all should, about how shitty things were getting in the country and no one took any pride anymore in anything they did and the level of corruption that was going on...while I don't agree with the ending of the movie they did point out things in society that were wrong and have actually gotten a lot worse today...

He had no self control
And he lost the ability to function in an environment where he could t control everything.
He may have seen some societal issues but that reaction was tied to his fall into madness

I understand that hence the title Fallen Down, still doesn't change the fact he was correct on his assessments that society as a whole simply does not care anymore about right or wrong other than what is it for me...

Michael Douglas' character in this is another example in a fine tradition of angry white male characters that angry white males lionize but don't realize that they were created to make fun of angry white males.

Archie Bunker is another good one....Al Bundy, as well.

i for one don't watch a movie and then view it through race. an angry person going ham on society is an angry person going ham on society.

never mind that this white male kills the lone white supremacist in the movie.

but it's cool of you to have that define your movie watching by whether the main character is depicted by somebody of a certain race.

Eh, race is definitely a part of this movie. It's not the only part, but if you don't think it is, I think you're lying to yourself.

The movie is supposed to be a tour of LA. LA is a very diverse city and it wanted to hit those stereotypes.
