I would assume a mutual respect between them at best. Buddy gives him a slight grin after giving the money back, but I don't see Buddy being the type to have friends in the normal sense.

just watched again did anyone rewind when they ran thru the redlight in the beginning of the movie. It was so obvious it was three stunt guys. The passenger girl in the front seat was a guy wearing a wig

Great movie. Yea, I think Richard Tyson let himself go over the years. I think that mug shot was from his home town of Mobile where his brother was a DA back in the day or something. He used to be on a cop show with Sargent Taggert from Beverly Hills Cop way back when called Hard Ball maybe. I used to love that show when I was a kid.
