I didn’t hate it but I get why people do.

Probably a benefit of not seeing it in theatres and knowing that there’s a sequel.

It looks like Samson gets some shorts for Bone Temple. Or it could just be digitally added for the trailer.

Like this bit didn't love it. They slowed it down too much at the end IMO. The last scene with the stupid monkey flipping jumpsuit wearing idiots was interesting.

Weird ending but didn't hate it. Probably to prepare us for how weird bone temple will be.

Id say weirdest thing is the kid willing to kick his dad out of his life but letting a random "doctor" kill his mom and just going with it.

Hopefully fewer peckers in the next one.

Im gonna assume since alphas seem to be able to control the smaller runners, the baby will be able to as well or may turn into an alpha herself eventually. Easy to see a " key to everything" scenario.

Yeah the ending was weird and I knew it would be with all the clips I saw before finally watching it, but with all the weird zombies and the world they’re building now it wasn’t as bad as I thought.

It was decent. Definitely strayed away from 28 days later

Watched this last night. I have some complaints for sure (mainly the pacing and that not much ultimately happens). But I kinda liked it.

I didn't know (or had forgotten) that this was filmed using mostly iPhone 15s. That is honestly fricking incredible that you can shoot a feature length film on a phone and have it look this good, and basically indistinguishable from regular movie cameras. I think if you'd have told me that even just 15 years ago I wouldn't have believed it. The movie looks fantastic.

I thought Voldemort was great in it. And the kid was solid too.

They did a good job of keeping the level of frenzy up with the infected. That scene with Alpha sprinting down the causeway chasing Spike and Jamie was intense.

So am I to understand that these zombies are fricking each other and making babies? I assume if the baby is born, the mother can't take care of it in any way whatsoever, and so she/they would immediately kill and eat it. Is that what we're taking away from that whole subplot? If so, that is VERY dark shite.

Obviously Days is the pinnacle of this franchise, but this one was definitely better than Weeks IMO.

And yeah, the end scene was pretty fricking stupid, and if it is setting up the next movie then I have low hopes for it.

Am I wrong in that I thought Cillian Murphy was supposed to make an appearance in this one? I thought I remembered talking about that on this board (and maybe even in this thread...need to go back and check).

From what I understand, they used something called a beastgrip, which allowed them to enhance the quality of the footage with added lenses and filters.

I thought it was the best movie I have seen this year.

He was phenomenal.

Minor point, that wasn't "Samson", that was another Alpha.

I think the point was that the infected are evolving. Remember, this was 28 years after the outbreak. How old do you think Samson was during the outbreak? If you recall from 28 days later, the infected were starving because they didn't have the instinct to eat. Obviously something has changed. I don't think we are meant to know what is exactly going on with them.

Why would the mother eat her baby? The infected don't eat humans. They are driven by rage to attack and turn other humans. If you recall from 28 days later, the infected were starving because they didn't have the instinct to eat. You see other infected children in 28 years later (the worm eaters).

The ending scene was jarring but I think the point was to knock everyone's expectations just as the preview had a completely different tone that the actual movie.

True. I meant to type Alpha.

It’s been a while since I’ve seen Days, but I do t remember them “not having the instinct to eat.” I just thought that after 28 days they starved and finally died. May have to rewatch it again since it’s Halloween season soon.

I didn’t think it was just about them trying to turn people. Of course you could argue that them violently attacking and biting necks leads to them eating bits sometimes. But I won’t argue with you as you seem to be more versed in Days canon than I am.

It was definitely up there for me. I was expecting a mixed bag after reading some reviews on here but I liked it a lot.

He allegedly has a small role in Bone Temple and a larger role in the third film if it gets made.

So I rewatched the last hour a bit more sober tonight because the ending just blended too much Saturday night after a day of football and bourbon.

I liked it more. I get the stark WTF ending turning some off, but let’s be honest, there was a lot of WTF throughout the entire movie. Lot of cool filming sequences.

Makes sense, everyone in that crew has the same hair as him. I watched a documentary about him and he was an absolute scumbag.

Despite all of the plotholes, and weird directions of the movie, I really enjoyed it. Its a movie about Zombies. Not that deep.

Finally got around watching this today. Let me preface by saying I love 28 days later. I really liked the first 1.5 hours of this movie but then the plot holes and wtf moments are just too much. Let's go see this doctor and let him tell us you have cancer and just get him to kill you. That was stupid and silly. I didn't mind the jumpsuit people ending though

Watched all 3 for the first time over the past two weeks
Really enjoyed Days, didn't really like Weeks
Years was... interesting. Beautifully filmed and I really enjoyed Fiennes' parts, but the story was a bit unhinged and of course I didn't get the Power Rangers stuff at the end

It was a 12 year old’s desperate attempt to save his mom. I didn’t think it was presented as a well thought out plan.

As far as her death, I think she just has a moment of clarity and realized
1) she was a major liability to Spike on their return trip
2) dying of brain cancer without the aid of modern medicine would be excruciatingly painful

I thought she made a pretty reasonable decision given the circumstances.
