1975 just might have featured the greatest Best Picture line-up of all-time...

Just look at these freaking films:

Barry Lyndon
Dog Day Afternoon
Jaws
Nashville
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

All five films are legendary that were directed by men (Stanley Kubrick, Sidney Lumet, Steven Spielberg, Robert Altman, and Milos Forman) who were all at the top of their game.

However, I will definitely entertain other years such as 1939, 1994, 2007, and even 2019. The latter of which just might be the last great year we have seen in film:

1917
Ford v. Ferrari
The Irishman
Jojo Rabbit
Joker
Little Women
Marriage Story
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
Parasite

Technically, those are the 1976 nominees for pictures that came out in 1975 with One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest winning. 1975 was good too:

The Godfather II: Winner
Chinatown
The Conversation
Lenny
The Towering Inferno (WTF?)

2004

The Lord of the Rings: Winner
Lost In Translation
Master and Commander
Mystic River
Seabiscut

I really hate people like you. Were LSU the national champions of 2019 or the national champions of 2020?

All great films. Most years have at least one dud, like the years that featured Towering Inferno and Seabiscuit, respectively

You know, controversy aside. I do really really like Shakespeare in Love. It gets a lot of negativity around it but I thought it was a really fun movie

I’ve died on this hill many times but Shakespeare in love is a very good movie. It was well liked at the time, it was on many critics top 10 lists. Winning best picture was probably the worst thing that could have happened to it.
