SIAP

What's the board's consensus on this show?

I've watched about 2/3rds of season one and am really enjoying it.

Is there going to be a season 2? Is it set up for a possible 2nd season?

I like the "Rainwater" lineage story. Very interesting and historically correct.

Love it. Yes it's set up for a 2nd season. Spencer has to get home, eventually!

It's pretty good. Very slow paced. Trying to stretch every story line out as far as they can.

There better be another season. I'm ready for Spencer to start kicking arse.

It came across as a Lifetime soap opera for me. I thought that 1883 was better, and it was just ok.

Like most of Taylor Sheridan's work, it was good but not great television. He does better than most of the creators out there.

Best Yellowstone series yet. Best acting, best writing and best premise (particularly because we know how it will turn out and it still keeps our interest).

wish he'd get back to writing movies. Doesn't get a whole lot better than his run of Sicario, Hell or High Water, Wind River, Sicario 2, Those who Wish me Dead

I enjoyed it. Looking forward to season 2. Felt like they drug out parts of Spencer’s trip home at times though like they were trying to squeeze in an impromptu epic adventure period piece from the script of a show they never got green lit.

We have watched all of Yellowstone, 1883 and 1923.

We thought 1923 was very slow and not particularly well-acted. Harrison Ford is a waste of airspace in it.

There are some very implausible events in the Spencer/Alexandria storyline that really showcase the weak writing.

I think Sheridan has over-extended himself and both season 5 of Yellowstone and 1923 suffered for it.

We both loved 1883.

Did you not think the whole thing with the ghost ship ramming the smaller ship while both were supposedly dead in the water and drifting was a bit implausible?

The tornado scene is the only thing that comes immediately to mind, what else was there? Its been a while since I watched it so I may not remember the others.

For me, 1883 was the better of the two spinoffs.
