My goodness. Dark is so good. I'm now on season 3.
I knew Dark was gonna be good when that little kid did that magic trick for his dad, and when asked how he did it replied "papa, the question isn't how, the question is when" ...with creepy music playing in the background.
that's how you're supposed to kick off a show like this

Well, baws. I have 1 last episode of Dark and I'll be done. What a ride. Can't wait to see how it goes down.

Damn. What a show. Dark had a great ending.

Dark is one of the best overall series from the past several years, IMO.
As a side note related to 1899, if anyone who enjoyed the show hasn't seen the accompanying Making 1899 docuseries, check it out.
Their use of "The Volume" technology is fascinating.

How could they be mad? I thought it was great

I don't want to post spoilers for Dark in this thread, but this Reddit post states the biggest issue people have with the ending: Reddit Link

Just finished 1899. Not nearly as good as Dark. Pretty disappointed actually. Maybe I just didn't get it.

Really surprised they didn't give them at least one more season.

This makes me extremely pissed off

I’m 4 episodes in, completely enthralled, and while looking up an ep 4 recap, I also came across a few articles saying it was cancelled.
This is bullshite.

I have no evidence for it, but i suspect the show would've survived if not for the in your face gay scenes. i bet it turned off alot of the audience. hope they learn their lesson

Yes, for all the dumb shite they do multiple seasons of.

This was the reason why I resubscribed to Netflix after a year away. Not good, Netflix.

Lot of people are pissed it got cancelled apparently. It wasn’t as good as Dark but still a lot better than 90% dropped. We are spiraling towards Idiocracy at an alarming rate.

Super bummed this was cancelled, but I'm not surprised. It's the most expensive German TV show of all time and apparently viewership dropped off heavily after the first few episodes.
While I was enjoying it immensely, I do see how it got a bit too convoluted for most viewers. My wife checked out when episode 6 ended with the big pyramid. I think it just had too many "sudden twists" for her tastes.
I guess I don't understand what Netflix expects from each release. They already have a large number of subscribers and it's not like people unsubscribe because of one show they don't like. There's so much on Netflix's catalog that it's not possible to watch everything. If Netflix was willing to invest in a few seasons of a show, why not go through with it? Can they really keep focusing on obtaining new subscribers?
Besides, if 1899 panned out as a great show, more people would watch. I bet if it was given the chance to tell the full story, it would pick up steam and entice more people to subscribe to check it out.

This is my biggest issue with the cancellation. The creators planned to tell a story over three seasons. Of course there's going to be shite that isn't resolved after season one, and maybe not everything will make sense until the entire story unfolds.
It's impossible to evaluate the series without knowing where it was going or how it would end.

Also, they released it early December. We started watching the first week. We stopped during Christmas because who the frick wants to stay up watching mind bending sci fi shite after singing Christmas carols and eating peppermints?
Picked it back up afterwards.
So if their issue is that viewership dropped off after a good start, that’s on their scheduling, not the show.

I’m just seeing that this show got canceled. I mean wtf? We’re the numbers not that good? The reviews were pretty good for it and I really enjoyed it. You would think with the major success of Dark they would have a little longer leash
