How in the hell are those deputies going to figure out that the settlers killed their buddies?
Also, why were they north of Laramie, in Jasper? Seems like they went north already.
Ask Buck Rogers....LOL
To the first part of your query, their is a ton of people out there and those "buddies" weren't scalped or riddled with arrows. They'll just kill anyone out of place.

Well here's my answer to that. If they were hours south of Casper, that would've put them just north of Fort Laramie, which coincidentally was not decommissioned until 1890. So, it would've made much more sense to go there, yet lazy writing led them to a fort that was abandoned 16 years ago.

So do we have 2 more generations of Duttons left before they give the ranch back to the indians? I think were on gen. 5 right now.

The good news is if they have a show called 2083 showing the Duttons lose the ranch, we can't say the history is wrong.

I enjoyed the series. Did it have flaws? Yes. Did it have good moments? Yes. It was never going to be a long running series, so I just looked over the flaws.

Anyone notice how Jon held his dead son under the tree in the first episode of Yellowstone the same way James held Elsa under the tree?
I noticed that the tree that Elsa chose to die under had been hit by a lightning strike. At the end, while riding off with her husband, she said of her paradise "There are no storms, and I am the lightning"

Finished up last night. I really enjoy this show; one of my favorites right now. Sure it’s got a few historical inaccuracies, but compared to some of the crap on TV nowadays, I can look pass that. I really liked the character development and the finale hit me right in my feels.

As annoying as Elsa’s fake accent was.
I enjoyed the season but the lengthy voice overs in that terrible accent began to grate on my nerves.

I feel bad for the first guy she fricked. He even got replaced in her imaginary afterlife.

Just finished it. We really enjoyed

In mid-February, Paramount announced that more episodes of 1883 were coming and 1932 was in development. They also shared their unique strategy for how the Yellowstone universe will be broadcast this year.
Yellowstone season 5 will be bigger than ever and feature 14 total episodes. However, the season will be split up into two halves with seven episodes each. Part one will start airing this summer on the Paramount Network. Then, during the break, Paramount+ will drop “additional episodes” of 1883. But there won’t be a full season 2.

Just got around to watching this..
I didn't care for the ending but, oh well. I expected more closure but if they are going to have additional episodes I guess the ending is OK.
Elsa was kinda skanky. She needed some discipline.

Your question about the Brazos River is the reason I found this forum on the 1883 miniseries. Like Taylor Sheridan, I grew up in Fort Worth.
If this wagon train left Fort Worth, heading north to find the Oregon Trail, then they plan to cross into Indian Territory (Oklahoma). But, at that point, the Brazos River is far to the west, and goes from west Texas in a south-southeasterly direction toward central Texas and the Gulf Coast. If you are in Fort Worth or north of it, and you go west, you will NEVER need to cross the Brazos River, if you want to go to Montana.
And if you DO cross the Brazos River somewhere west of Fort Worth, then you are going south! And you will need to cross it again, heading back north if you want to go towards Montana.
It makes no sense. Did Taylor Sheridan write this?
And why do they keep calling it the "BRAH-zos"? Where are they from?

Sitting in the couch after hip surgery watching CWS and 1883 with the pops. Good series.

You didn't miss anything. And you are correct. There is absolutely no reason why they would leave Fort Worth and cross the Brazos River. That would make no sense, as it would put them on the southwest side of the Brazos.
This was just a case of Taylor Sheridan, the writer, thinking that no one would be smart enough to know that this made no sense. He wrote this show for teenage girls living on the west coast or east coast. If you are interested in history of Texas or history of the old west, this show is NOT for you (or for me).
