Doing the next one in the 60s would be an awesome spin and probably refreshing to the series.
Of course they would totally frick it up.

Who downvoted this? It’s 100% true.
Pay Henry Cavill whatever he wants.
Set the movie in the 60s.
Make the soviets or old nazis the bad guys.
The movie will print money.

The more I think about it the more correct I am I mean the Fleming novels were a lot darker than the Bond series with Connery or Moore you could even do the same story but a truer telling of the story or go with my other suggestion that make it a Felix lighter driven film but in the bond universe with the characters proven characters in the Bond films as opposed to these almost parody of sixty spy movies that were getting

Agreed. But unfortunately we’ll probably soon have a trans 007.

Make the soviets or old nazis the bad guys.
-A NWO Klaus Schwab ultra villain would be perfect and fit in with the lore
The movie will print money
-Only if they let Bond be “Bond”

Will never happen.
If they did it they would make it for “modern audiences” and it would suck

I read them religiously on trains backpacking through Europe a long time ago...because the paperbacks were thin and lightweight and you could find them in any used bookstore. Connery comes closest to the Novels, Moore is a movie invention.
Bond is a dark morose, brooding, widowed alcoholic that loves Bourbon.
That isn't film-fun. The movies we could call..." loosely based".

Your sentiment has a lot to do with Connery being the best Bond.
And nothing against Moore, I grew up seeing those on the big screen and he was fantastic too.

There's a chapter in one of the Bond novels where he's just drinking in the dark by himself.
I think they might've shown it for 2 seconds in one of the movies...and then...lets get to the action and hot babes.
Its weird, in the books he mostly drinks whiskey (Scotch) but says he prefers Bourbon.
The Vodka Martini is lightly used in the first few films but Bond is more seen drinking whiskey.
Ian Fleming drank mostly Bourbon and smoked 3 packs a day...that was his Bond. The movies took a generous amount of creative license.
I don't know if we'd like the book Bond...they kinda tried to do it with Craig but they were out of material and nobody could write for shite.

Yeah, Craig and Dalton are probably closest to book Bond in their personalities, they just didn't have great writing for the most part.
