Yeah, my roommate said chinito is like a general term and by itself isn’t a big deal. I’m assuming the combination of the eye stuff and the word is the issue and what makes it a big deal.

Apparently. I had a buddy from Central America and was of Chinese descent. His nickname there was Chino and was a term of endearment.

Hahah I don’t give a crap if you do stuff like this, a lot of people do it (I’ve done it) but if you get caught doing it on a nationally televised game there is gonna be some kind of consequence.
Like i said earlier, it’s a bit to blame on his culture. Cuba is not a normal place, so I understand that part of it. He isn’t going to be up to speed on social norms, etc, but it’s not a good look.
I think Darvish is dumb for saying he should punished. He apologized. End it.
