Footage from the softball Diamond Youth World Series yesterday...combatants appear to be coaches from the 15U Louisiana team from Minden and a group of Texas parents/coaches.

Embarrassment all around but especially since the best shot comes from #11 who throws a shoe off of one of the coaches heads.

Hot take, softball parents are significantly trashier than baseball parents on the whole.

Softball travel parents are the worst. The softball Dads are nuts. Experienced it for 4 years and happy to have gotten out of it.

Travel ball and moreso, travel ball parents, are a bane to youth sports.

Hopefully everyone of those troglodytes are banned for life from that park.

Where were the cops?

Growing up I played in dizzy dean (mild flex I know) and we played a game where if the other team won they were in the playoffs (they were supposed to be a favorite before the season but lost a few games). Well we were winning when it was their turn to bat their coach switched the batting order so his best hitter would bat with them having a runner on second base.

The score keeper told the coach about it and the coach called him a liar. Score keeper asked if the coach could read and showed him the batting order.....some of the coaches 'cultcha' came out and it lead to a massive brawl between the parents.

One of our players mom got absolutely rocked by a dad from the other team. Our coach tried stopping him from hitting her more and jumped on his back but our coach was a little guy and when he jumped on that dudes back it looked like that scene with Yoda on that guys back.

We had to stop that kid from going out there with a baseball bat.

Trashy but definitely a core memory lol.

That’s hilarious

But that looked like 2, maybe 3 people fighting and everyone else trying to stop it, which they did.

And nobody is dead or was at risk of getting killed.

Why didn't you just let him hit and the ump call him out for batting out of order. You know, use the rules.

Girl throwing the shoe had a nice arm. Accuracy was on point too.

Well I was a player and it was the leagues score keeper that brought it up not us.

We knew that batter was coming up. Their coach had him by the dugout opening and the actual next batter on deck. Then had them swap between on deck circle and dugout opening. If I am remembering correctly he had a little huddle with them before the on deck batter was to go to the plate and swapped them then. What really didn't help the situation is the better batter was the biggest kid on the team.

Please don’t make excuses for these idiots. No more impulse control than the YN’s everyone loves to (deservedly) bash.

I’m becoming convinced that travel ball events are like Carnival cruises for white folks.
