Hopefully Nichuskin’s “personal reasons” for his absence are cleared up and he’s back in the lineup tomorrow night in Denver.

We need it. I could be wrong, but I think the Avs went to three lines for a good chunk of the 3rd.

Team is fatigued. Gonna need some sort of boost to get out of this series

EDIT: yeah, just read up on it. Nieto sure looked dead that entire game, but I didn’t recall seeing Newy all that much in the 3rd. Seems like the Malgin/Newhook/Meyers line got sat for a significant amount of time. We are in trouble lol

I was able to watch most of 2nd and 3rd couldn’t stay up for OT

Makar looked off, Manson has been bad from day 1

Missing Val is a death sentence with no Landy bc there is no net presence

I’ve been waiting for them to takeover a game and it hasn’t happened besides for 4-5 minutes stretches

Georgie showed up last night big time

No depth and worn out
Doesn’t even matter if they win this series either Minnesota or Dallas will beat this Avs team in 5 games next round

Yeah, my title defense bingo card definitely did not have Georgie being this good while the guys in front of him fail him, particularly the blue line.

There's a really interesting Youtube video that ranks metrics of the best Stanley Cup runs since 2008 (I think) and last year's Avs had a goal saved above expected of -7, which was by far the lowest of any champion

They really won that Cup in spite of goaltending so anything more is a plus

Makar to have a hearing with Player Safety.

Would’ve been nice if Player Safety had that same energy when Makar took a blow to the head.

I get the interference penalty, it absolutely was, but a suspension is a bit much here.

If Dumba can avoid a fine or suspension then Makar should get a fine at most

Only 3 games tonight. I wish the league would have stuck with 4 games every night until someone was eliminated. It's interesting that ESPN and TNT/TBS keep going up against each other at the same time.

I don't get this one at all based on other occurrences. For example, the Jeff Carter hit on Makar just this season didn't even get looked at by DoPS or like someone brought up earlier the Dumba hit.

EDIT: That's not to say the hit wasn't bad, it was - textbook interference. I'm just shocked that the league office is essentially saying their on ice officials got it wrong even after review to make it a minor penalty. Especially when there are other instances worse than this one (by the hit itself, not its timing) recently.

Good point. Though if the NBA didn't have all the silly play in games, they could have started their playoffs earlier to simplify this. 82 games ought to be long enough to determine the 16 best teams. Would you want the NHL to go to the play in games too?

Hurricanes a goal wiped off. Stars going to a 5 minute power play.

Stars immediately score. And still on the power play.
