He catches a lot of shite, but he's probably the best and least shitbag commissioner of the US pro leagues.
Can't believe these words are about to come out of my mouth, but I agree. He has really turned his rep around.

The parade for the Vegas Aces was pretty damn good for a WNBA team. I can't imagine what the parade for the Golden Knights is gonna be like.

I root for Montreal and Edmonton as well. I'd love to live in Montreal for a couple years.

The parade will be on Saturday at 7pm Pacific time. It'll take a short route down The Strip and culminate with a rally at Toshiba Plaza in front of T-Mobile Arena.

Canadiens must be so butthurt each year that Carolina or Tampa or Florida or Las Vegas makes it to the Stanley Cup Finals

Will they be butt hurt next year when the Kraken win it all?

Has anyone ever held their parade at night before? It's supposed to be 99 there, so I see why it was organized that way.

Just imagine how enraged they were on Twitter and Instagram when they saw this guy.

There's a great thread on HFBoards about this. The Knights are probably in the top-five of best-run franchises in North American sports. Sure, they had new rules for their expansion draft. But they capitalized on that, and took a bunch of cast-offs that other teams didn't want. The CBJ gave then Wild Bill, and the Panthers handed over Marchessault *and* Reilly Smith.
Management has made some risky moves, and was willing to cut bait when it made sense, such as Fleury, Pacioretty, and Tuch. They've made shrewd trades.
But in all of that, They've also made the absolute best in-game presentation in sports. They have united the city around them, and in their overall team identity. Their success isn't an accident - it's calculated, and it starts on the ground with the marketing to the masses.
They weren't gifted anything more than a franchise. The management has turned that into phenomenal on-ice success, and a license to print money.
Canadian fans shouldn't be pissed at Bettman. They should demand more from their own management structures.

Yep.
But unfortunately the hubris of that franchise probably won't allow them any kind of self-reflection

I’m a Kraken fan, and I was fully prepared to hate the Knights in the postseason and pull against them, as they are a division rival. But the more I watched them, the more I liked them. So I don’t hate them anymore. I admire them instead because they do things the right way.
Contrast that to some other teams… the more I watch them, the more I dislike them. I won’t get into them and ruin a positive post for the Knights.

Watching the VGK championship celebrations. It's a glorious mess. William Karlsson is so wasted that they had to take the mike from him and carry him off of the stage.

The only thing I would disagree with is that using Alex Tuch as part of a package to get Jack Eichel is not cutting bait.

Is there video of this or any of the other shenanigans?
I'd love to see it/them. These NHL parades are always classic.

Barbashev made himself a lot of money with the playoffs he had. He will get a nice pay raise to 4/5mil per and 4-5 years.
Guy has worked his arse off to enjoy another championship and ring.
