Shocking how Bettman is perceived now. It was tradition for many years that he was booed mercilessly by every fan base when he presented the Cup, and he played it up and did it with a smile.

Actually, quite the testament to how much the other pro sports commissioners are hated and Gary has come full circle and has been acknowledged for having done a pretty good job as NHL Commissioner.

Las Vegas as the champion beating Florida is kind of proof of his vision for the league.

Bruins lose in the first round and the coach they fired goes on to win the cup instead. Lol

He still approved all the shitty ads on jerseys and helmets. And all the annoying flickering ads on the boards and ice. So I liked him a lot more before.

I assure you that Canadians everywhere proclaim the opposite. Those idiots still blame him every time a Canadian team loses in the playoffs. Or that Quebec City still doesn't have a team.

I've been getting a lot of "Gary handed you a Cup" BS tonight. I just trigger them with this.

All those elitist Canadians that look down upon non traditional US markets makes me hope they have to wait another 3 decades without a Stanley Cup in Canada.

Florida coach Paul Maurice said Panthers star forward Matthew Tkachuk fractured his sternum in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final, and that he's one of four players with broken bones.

Maurice, speaking after the Panthers were eliminated in Game 5 on Tuesday night, said Tkachuk needed help getting dressed for Game 4 but still powered through and played in the home loss. He did not play in Game 5.

Maurice also noted that defenseman Aaron Ekblad played three rounds of the postseason with a broken foot, and that fellow defenseman Radko Gudas, a pending unrestricted free agent, played an unspecified amount of the postseason with a high ankle sprain.

Who is the clown here who roots for Montreal?

You were chirping me two years ago and I wanted to let you know: “Knights in 5”.

My only (minor) complaint about tonight is that I hated to see Florida get that 3rd goal. Had the Knights held them to 2, Alec Martinez would have been credited with the game winner...on the 9th anniversary of his Cup winner while with the Kings. LINK

Folks, this is why whenever I make a prediction or share bet tips on here, I immediately tell you it's wise to fade me. This is from page 2, posted back on 4/16...

I'm calling Boston - Edmonton with Boston winning in 6.

I expect VGK to struggle a bit getting past Winnipeg, then drawing Edmonton in Round 2, leading to slow, painful death.

As someone who has been recovering from a broken sternum for the last three months I have to say it is insane that Tkachuk played one game with a fractured sternum. If a slapshot had hit him there Webster's and Oxford would have to invent a new word to describe the level of pain he would have been in.

The happiest person here tonight is Adin Hill’s agent...but I'm not too far behind.

Bruce Cassidy has to be up there too. I would love to see the memes he has texted to Boston's front office now.

As much as I've dogged Tkachuk during this series I have MASSIVE respect for him trying to play through that. Florida seemed much more banged up than we realized.

Handshake line is one of the great traditions of NHL playoff hockey.

The Cardinals and Dodgers did that once in a playoff series, but MLB being MLB, they stopped doing it.

Never go full MLB.

I was our there when they lost in the finals their first year. The bitching was insane. I recall a specific bartender and I was wearing an Astros hat. I told him we waited 40 years, be patient, it will come. But I like vegas winning.

Can’t wait for the bitching to ensue if the Raiders lose a Super Bowl.
