Ill be honest. 5.2
I was 6' 210 and played linebacker.

Were you a starter? At least thanks to this thread you now know that the guy who backed you up tells everyone you were 6'2" 245 and ran a 4.4

Yeah I started my junior and senior year. I had a few d2 and d3 schools show interest in me too.

I just played fast and hit like a train.

Ran a 5.1 on our shitty field in HS my senior year. I also ran it at the NFL Experience back in 02 but forgot what I ran

I ran it again in casual shoes at the NFL Experience last month and ran a 5.7

People were saying it was a slow track because Karr QB Speedy Noil could only muster a 4.7

The funny thing is people have no idea how fast 'fast' is. I'd wager a legit 5 second 40 yard dash as a 16 year old would make you a pretty damn good athlete. A sub 4.75 would make you the fastest guy on the field in an average high school football game more times than not.

This is the damn truth. I'll bet most people claiming they run 4.5 were a hell of a lot closer to 5.0. Hand timed doesn't count.

4.7 is blazing for the non college athlete.

No kidding.

Kinda funny how a few years makes us all bigger, faster and stronger, as well as making us marginal D1 athletes.

A 10.4 100 YARD dash isn't that great...

Exactly. It's about an 11.3 or 11.4 for 100m. Wouldn't even make it to a high school state championship meet. 10.4 100y is actually one of the most believable times posted in this thread.

And one thing I didn't mention was that it was timed with a stopwatch in the mid '60s so the 10.4 was generous I'm sure.

For a kid with college size. If you were over 170 running a 4.7 you'd get some college looks unless there is something terribly wrong with you. Half the kids that played corner in division 4a when I was in high school where 5'7 to 5'9 and around 140 pounds.

Same here. Sports all year, running every day, and the damn ADHD medicine kept me from gaining any kind of weight

I was the same way. I finally got off my ADHD medication in 2005. By the end of 2006 I had gone from 140 lbs to 160 lbs. I weigh around 165-167 in the present day and also gained about an inch in height.

I'm not gonna lie...I was always fast. That's the only thing I could ever brag about in junior high and high school. My grades were average, my height and weight were a little below average, my athletic ability was about average, but my speed was WELL above average. I was outrunning kids who were several years older than me in my youth and I was outrunning some of our best athletes by junior high and high school. I may or may not have had Division I speed but my athletic ability was limited because I was small and lazy.

Fastest person I saw run that track all day was a DB from some New Orleans school and he only ran a 5.1. I thought it would have been much faster.

Boomshackalacka said he could run a 4.8, but his knee was hurting.

1/3 of these times are horse shite and 1/3 are lies. One year I started a high school team from scratch. 1A, less than 20 eligible, and many never played for. The good ones were small slow and weak. They worked hard and tried though, most of them. When they ran 40's for the first time, I shaved .3-.5 off of some their times. Gave them some confidence they needed. Only 2-3 broke sub 5's.

My best time was 5 flat in high school at 5'10 220. I also benched 315 and squatted 540. Not bad for OL/DL

Stop watches are just really hard to use accurately. I was at CHS when Dunn ran a 4.23 and K. Franklin ran a 4.17. Prob pretty close.
