2014 BCS National Championship Game. Auburn vs FSU. Auburn takes the lead 31-27 w/ less than two minutes to go. When FSU gets the ball back I would change any play that would stop that drive. The most dramatic probably would have been instead of the TD pass with 13 seconds left an Auburn player intercepts the ball. We were one play away from a second national championship in four years.
Two honorable mentions: 1997 SEC Championship game where Tenn beat Auburn 30-29. Change that Peyton Manning TD in the fourth quarter to an interception returned for a TD. It wasn't right at the end of the game, but Auburn would have been ahead by 13 with limited time to go and I think we would have won our first SEC Championship Game.
1991 World Series Game Seven: Braves vs. Twins. Mark Lemke would have hit a home run in the ninth to take the lead 1-0. Hopefully Braves pitching would have held on in the bottom of the ninth for the World Series title.

Pick any one of the 10+ bogus calls/non calls in the 2006 LSU vs Auburn game. LSU wins and eventually goes on to play UF again in the SECCG.
That 2006 team was literally robbed of a title in what has to be the most obviously rigged game in the history of the SEC (and that is saying a lot bc we have seen some serious WWF shite happen in SEC games).
Don't get me started on 2011.

One Bill Belichick was the defensive coordinator for the Giants that year (as well as for the 1986 championship). He defensive gameplan was so exceptional that it is in the hall of fame. I had never heard of a gameplan being in the hall of fame before. Belichick said if Thurman Thomas rushes for over 100 yards, than the Giants will win the game. The point was to take away the passing game because he astutely saw that as the primary driver of their success. Thomas has a great game en route to losing.

CJ Mosley doesn't deflect final pass in 2012 SECCG, instead the ball gets to Malcolm Mitchell, who catches the winning TD pass with :05 left. Georgia goes on to monkeyfrick Notre Dame and win the national title (which absolutely would have happened).
That was a fantastic game all around.

#1-
Rams Mike Lansford misses the FG in the Superdome and the Saints have their first winning season and make the playoffs (1983)
#2-
Bill Buckner successfully fields the ground ball and puts Mookie Wilson out at first base (1986)
#3-
Dwight Clark of the Niners drops the pass in the 1981 NFC Championship and Tom Landry's Cowboys go to the Super Bowl.

Just to see how it all would have played out. We really had Alabama reeling until that moment.
I think Texas wins a close one if Colt doesn't go down. Amazing that was only 5 years ago.

Too Tall or Larry Bethea sacking Montana or at least tipping this pass...
honorable mention - Eric Wright's touchdown saving textbook horse-collar tackle on Drew Pearson after "the catch"...

Super Bowl 38 - Panthers Vs Patriots
One of the greatest super bowls ever played! As a Panthers fan I can't help but wonder what would have happened if John Kasay hadn't put the kick off out of bounds with 1:08 remaining in regulation in a tied game.
Would Brady have still marched down the field in time to win in regulation via FG without the short field? If not who would have come out ahead in OT? Will always wonder...fricking Kasay man.

Or Ok State makes the field goal to beat Iowa State
Totally this. Even if LSU loses, at least its not to a team we already beat. And if LSU wins, they would have beaten all of the top 5 plus the Big 12, Pac-10, and Big East champs (plus winning the SEC). It would've been the best season in CFB history. Ugh.
Or I'd have anyone drive in a damned run any of 8 times the O's had a runner in scoring position in the 1997 ALCS.

Jeffery Maier is one I know would have changed the season. Saw your post just gave me flashback to it.

As much as that call irritates me, the Yankees were better in 1996. 1997 bothers me far more, AND it had the shitty call of Marquis Grissom stealing home on a foul ball. Which I can't even talk about, and has gone down the memory hole. The O's got screwed so hard in 1997.

I always wonder what happens in 93 if Demers doesnt ask for the blade check. I am happy that he did, for certain though.

I wonder what happens if they don't wipe out Ovechkin's goal because Knuble was barely in the crease in Game 5 against the Habs in 2010.
