1985 - Wayman Tisdale's last second OT jumper does not go in and LATech advances to the elite eight to face Memphis.

Oklahoma State makes fg against Iowa State in 2011 OR Kevin Dyson of the Titans gets into the endzone during the final play of the Super Bowl in 2000.

You would look at a bunch of plays selfishly then 99% of us would stop someone from being killed or paralyzed on the field and feel good about it.

PI on Doucet vs Auburn 2006.

LSU then wins and whips Okie for BCS title after getting revenge on UF in SECCG.

Ray Allen 3 in game 6

Derek fisher .4 second 3 in game 5 in 04 against Spurs

Or the Vernon Davis TD because the 2011 saints were the best saints team in franchise history

The Ice Bowl. Quoting Bill Curry if Bart Starr doesn't get in on the quarterback sneak, Is the Lombardi Trophy still named after him? If the Colt McCoy gets sacked or the incomplete pass doesn't get overturned in the 2009 Big 12 title game against Nebraska and the Flynn pass to Byrd in the 2007 Lsu/Auburn game gets intercepted, do Mack Brown and Les Miles get hanged before they get a chance to escape the stadium from the lynch mobs?

Going full redneck for a moment: Davey surviving that helicopter crash at Talladega in '93.

I will say the race there after his death was probably one of the best (and sad) I've ever watched.

i think the fact that every lsu fan wants a play changed in a game that doesnt directly involve their team is really telling.

im not sure what it means (bcs system was broken, alabama owns them, etc...) but it's very odd to me that there isn't a play in one of their own games that is more important.

and yes i understand the significance of the play being addressed, but it's still weird.

We're usually too drunk during the game to remember anything

I'm sure I could think of a few plays here and there that might have impacted LSU in some way but it might be hard to think of just one.

again, i dont even know what it means but it just seems so weird. i guess it says the most about the way the system was set up?

that everyone is that confident that lsu would have beaten oklahoma state and the best team in the country would have finished 3rd with nothing to really complain about.

Well, my intent with the OP was scoreboard. A catastrophic injury happened on the field but it wasn't what I meant by result of the play.

Plus if you go that route, what player do you save? Why Devon Walker and not Chucky Mullins? Why Darryl Stingley and not Bill Masterton?

OSU field goal against Iowa State in 2011 is obviously #1

Kapernick tuck and run for a TD instead of poor fade pass to beat the Ravens in the Super Bowl is #2

if it had to be LSU related then I'd turn the yeldon screen pass in 2012 into an INT

Remember this is 20/20 hindsight. That LSU team beat 5 top 15 teams, 4 of them away from home, including at Alabama, who we had beaten 2 years in a row at that point, 3 of 5 with Saban and 6 of 7 with Saban and Miles before Saban went to Bama. So they didn't "own" us then. We beat the winners of 2 other BCS Conferences (both away from TS) so i see no reason for anyone short of OkSt fans to think LSU would not have beaten them as well.

I would argue Bama getting the rematch is what broke the BCS. Talk of the "best" team is strictly the eyeball test. At least half the BCS match-ups were not the "2 best" teams I'd argue. What happens on the field should matter. OkSt had the better resume, Bama did not win their division and lost at home.

As far as 1 play in an LSU game, there's not a lot of cases were 1 play for LSU gets us a title. The closest i can think of goes back before even my time, 1959 there was a controversy over a 2 point conversion by Tennessee, if we stopped it we win and win the 59 title i thnk. Maybe if Craig Davis catches the pass from Russell in the end zone in 2006 at Auburn instead of the 5 we win the Grand Theft Auburn game and play Florida in the SEC CG. Win that and we'd probably have pummeled tOSU that year but beating UF is 50/50. Baseball there were a couple but we got a couple as well

like i said, we pummeled Oregon (at Dallas) and WVU (at WVU) those teams won BCS conferences and BCS bowls, so its safe to say we'd beat OkSU as well. In which case LSU would be the best team, alabama would most likely have finished #2 assuming they win the Sugar Bowl.

that or just have us go for it and convert on 4th down rather than the missed FG
