Range, yes.

Arm strength, accuracy... Jeter wins in a landslide.

This postseason is now a failure in my eyes.

Sidney Ponson has announced he will not be pitching, and is going to buy a boat.

Yankees should sign Tim Wakefield and Jason Varitek just to stick it to the Sox

You make a good point, to be honest.

Who better to mentor Montero than Tek? I think he could help him a lot as far as actually being a catcher, not just a hitter (which he already possesses)

I know they were.. but I think Tek is a lot better at calling games than either of them.

Pirates sign Erik Bedard

Good move for them, IMO.

So glad Cashman didn't go after him. I wanted him in our rotation bad.

I'm curious to see what happens to our rotation this year.

(Not necessarily in order...)
CC
Nova
Burnett
Garcia
Phil? Betances? Banuelos? Darvish? Cone? Wells?

I know one thing for certain. Our bullpen will kick arse once again.

Soriano (hopefully he can throw better)
Robertson
Logan
Ayala
Mo

and I almost forgot......

I hope he can keep up his form from this season. He was surprisingly good.

Cashman confirmed this morning’s Rule 5 trade for Cesar Cabral. The move gives the Yankees hard-throwing lefty to compete for a spot in the bullpen. Cashman also explained that the Yankees took right-hander Brad Meyers to compete for a long relief role, because they have no plans of using Hector Noesi in that role next year. The Yankees want Noesi to start, either in New York or Triple-A.

My bet's on Cabral being offered back to the Royals in the Spring. Royals will pass and for the 2nd stright year, and 7 transactions later, he will enter the 2012 season back in the Red Sox organization. No way the Yankees keep him on their 25-man roster the entire season.

I think Phil has to start the year then Betances and/or Banuelos take a spot in the rotation depending on who struggles.

That rotation is really iffy. I dont think Garcia can repeat last year. Nova is solid, but he isn't a #2 IMO. Burnett and Hughes are so off and on.

Like last year, good enough to win 90+ games but not good enough to win a championship. I would actually like Darvish. A lot of people compare him to other Japanese pitchers, but I think he is clearly above them. If I remember correctly his ERA in Japan is a full run better than DiceK's was. I think his fastball has a little more on it and he changes speeds better. Plus he is 6-5. DiceK seems to have worn down and lost some of his velocity. Darvish has the prototypical size you look for in a starter.

Cross Wilson and Buehrle off your Christmas list. Have fun with another season of Burnett
