You have this arse backwards. His floor is putrid. Like never sees a snap putrid. His ceiling, because of his freak athleticism size combo, is theoretically high.

But the guy sucks at playing the QB position.

All that sounds like a third round pick, not a fourth overall pick. Taking AR15 at fourth overall is insanity.

Good thing you only got 13 games of proof he can't. Most the teams ge faced were a lot better than his. Some of these guys started like 45 games in comparison.

Also he scored 35 against Tenn, LSU, and FSU. If the defense showed up a little we could of won at least 1 of those.

His WR's and TE's were vandy level too. Haven't seen worse at fla in 34 years.

I believe in his work ethic more than anything.

I'm happy for him but I'm also glad I'm not a Colts fan right now.

You can't attack the Colts for QB evaluations.

Before tonight they had drafted 6 QBs in the first round:

1. Johnny Unitas
2. Bert Jones
3. John Elway
4. Jeff George
5. Peyton Manning
6. Andrew Luck

That's some serious arm talent. Even George, who floundered, had an elite tool set that made scouts drool.

Honest question. Who was the last top 5 QB who didn’t play his rookie year? The Colts are going to rush this dude in, regardless of what they say on draft day.

The idea of using a top 10 pick to draft a quarterback that still has to learn how to play quarterback would scare the hell out of me.

there’s no reason he can’t be Jalen hurt.
I dont think people are saying that Richardson has no shot to have a future in the NFL, but my response to your point is…. Why didnt Hurts get drafted earlier than he did?
Hurts was a lot better of a college player. He has a better arm and more speed. Richardson’s only advantage is Thicccccc.

This is one of the worst reaches in recent memory imo.

The Colts are quickly going back to pre-Manning Colts. The laughingstock of the league.

I was surprised when he left a year early. I was surprised when he was mocked as a first rounder. And I'm still shocked he was the freaking 4th round pick.

Sure he has all the physical tools in the world but every comp made absolutely no sense to me. Jalen Hurts put up video game numbers, Newton had video game numbers. He threw 16 freaking TDs. I don't get it

Unitas was drafted by the Steelers. Elway never played a down for the Colts and was traded for Marc Hermann and a Guard. Jeff George, Peyton Manning, and Andrew Luck couldve been drafted by a monkey as they were all far and away the easy and obvious first overall picks...which the Colts achieved only by sucking.

Bert Jones is really the only one they did something tangible to obtain by moving up to take him 2nd overall in '73.

To be fair, Manning had a horrible first year as QB for the Colts as well. Granted this information doesn't make what you said less true. Lol

To be fair he had the second highest aDOT throwing to terrible WRs so I wouldn’t expect him to have great completion numbers.

I hope he turns out to be a good QB because of everybody shitting on the pick

The worst possible team for him drafted him. What QB is going to be the starter while he learns to QB real good? They are absolutely going to throw him in. Also, what offensive weapons do they have to help him?

Why was he only a one-year starter, though? He's supposed to be this transcendant, franchise-carrying talent. It's not like he had a stacked QB room in front of him.
