Would you support federal legislation to limit college sports conferences to 8 teams?

I think I would actually be on board with that.
Conferences have gotten way too big and some of them are wielding too much power now. The top two conferences are bullying the other ones with all the negotiations, It’s moving closer and closer to a monopoly. 16 and 18 team conferences are way too big.
I wouldn’t mind passing legislation to break up the conferences into 8 teams each. LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Arkansas, Texas A&M, Texas, Oklahoma, and Missouri would make a cool conference.

No. No reason to have legislation when there are more important things like the DH in the National League.
Besides,12 teams is fine

Go back to 10
Round robin, play all 9 teams, no need for title game

This! No need for the mega conferences at this point. Get back to regional formats since it won’t matter with a 24 team invitational.
Breaking the tv contracts up will be the biggest mountain to climb.

10 is a much better number.
Main thing about larger conferences, it allows scheduling corruption. The top teams missed playing each other last couple of year. If they didn’t have a historic rivalry the conference office didn’t have them meet during the regular season.
With a 10 team conference, that is much harder to do.
If the cap was 8 we would have to invent new conferences, not going to happen.

I do not support federal legislation of any kind to address any issue whatsoever with college sports, period.
