re: Would it make more logical sense for betting lines to be decided at end of regulation?

You're betting on the outcome of a game. The game doesn't reach an outcome until it is over. Pretty simple.
Your argument would be like saying, well I was giving 34 points and my team was ahead by 45 until the fourth quarter when they put in the scrubs and they only won by 33. The fourth quarter shouldn't have counted.
Wrong. All factors must be considered before placing a bet.

It doesn’t give the house an advantage either way though…
For over under it does. Points can never come off of the board and they don’t raise the total needed if a game does in fact go to OT

Let’s say the over was the popular play. Game goes to ot short of the over. OT pushes it where the over hits
Tell me how that helps the house…..
This is strictly a logic debate. It doesn’t materially effect outcomes over time one way or the other

Individual player bets counting OT is more egregiously illogi
Why? You can factor possible OT into a bet.

When you bet on spreads or over/under, you are betting on what you think will happen in 60 minutes of football or any other sports allotted time etc
Why do you think this? It has never been the case. I have never once thought that I was only betting on 60 minutes. I thought I was betting on the game, and having viewed games realize there is a chance they will go into OT. I am sorry the OT caused you to miss your total bet, but OT has always been a consideration and every single person that has ever bet a total wished a game would go to overtime to cover an over bet.
Do you want to take every variable away? If a player gets injured should we pull the bet since I was expecting healthy players when I made the bet? That is all factored in as a part of the risk.

You can buy insurance to not include overtime if you take the under in a lot of places.

Yes, especially over/unders in college games.

I’d be down with this 100% but it won’t happen.
As mentioned OT is sorta factored into the lines.
What’s really crazy/dumb is that 2nd half bets also include OT. Imagine some of the beats when CFB used to go 4 or 5 OTs.

Are lines not taken off of the board when there’s injury to key players? Or other similar uncertainty

He was referring to in-game injuries
