He's 80. So no.

If you stop allowing travel. Steps and carry, small quick guards have a place.

Cousy could only dribble with one hand right?

Yeh bro, Wilt would still be considered incredibly big and strong in 2018

Well, he's 89 years old so probably not.

But in his prime, sure, why not?

If Steve Nash and Rubio could, why not ol' Bob?

We're not talking 500 years ago. Evolution doesn't work that fast 60's to now? C'mon, man that's barely a blip in time.

People need to stop acting like stuff that is only 30-40 years later is 100% better in athletics.

Janet Evans swimming records stood for 30 years.

But but but, we are supposedly more advanced every year????

What hubris.

This is a massive nothing burger He's doing NOTHING neat or difficult here. While Magic was obviously much better, old people always post shite like this of his where he no-looks around his neck or something with literally nobody trying to stop the ball OR the man in a fast break

Those gifs only hurt the argument that Cousy could play.

Wilt would still be a big guy, but 7'1 250 isn't near as freaky as it was.

Average NBA height/weight when Cousy started was 6'3, 185. It's now 6'7, 220.

Nobody was doing that back then.

If you are ahead of your time and an outlier you can play in any era as you pick things up.

If you transported a young Bob to today, all it would take would be a year of learning the new shite and nuances of the game. But intiution and skill and eye hand coordination is god-given and eye-hand coordination isn't magically better today than only 40 years ago.

Is everyone so much smarter than Albert Einstein now? After all, we have better nutrition and far more access to knowledge and he lived 60 years ago...so we must all be magically smarter because that's so old and long ago.

And I'm not that old.

Shaq would dominate Einstein in the post.

He would have MASSIVELY benefited from what Lebron benefits from as far as nutrition and the science behind maximizing what you can get out of your body.

The only old school players that I think would succeed in today’s game are Maravich and Dr J.

You're just talking about perimeter players, right? Because the great big men would be great in any era. Case in point, a 37-38 year old Kareem used to kill Hakeem in head to head matchups. Had three 40+ point games against Hakeem with tremendous efficiency. Meanwhile, prime Kareem had massive problems against an old Wilt with bad knees. He only shot 46% against Wilt in 39 career matchups. Wilt would have been incredible in any era.

He's still awesome at shooting FTs. So he'd be solid at the end of games.

If Bob Cousey can't play today than Dr. J can't play today and Wilt and Jerry West and Elgin Baylor.

Wilt, West, Baylor could all play. So could Dolph Schayes, Rick Barry, and Bob Petit.

Again, you couldn't carry the ball constantly back then.
