Would Bob Cousy be able to start and play effectively in today's NBA?

It is so hard to transplant a player from that long ago into today's league.
They would have better nutrition, strength training, and a more competitive basketball upbringing than that long ago.
He would be a pretty good player and maybe make a few all star games but at 6' 1" that would be a challenge to be a 13 time all star. I can see a Mark Jackson, Tony Parker, or Kyle Lowry type career

That was back when they enforced palming and you had to dribble like that.

No chance. There’s a story about Cousy doing a clinic at lsu shortly after he retired. He was showing the chest pass, bounce pass, etc. all the stuff that made him a hall of famer...
Coincidentally a new lsu basketball player named Pete Maravich had just showed up to campus and was practicing on the other side of the gym. Behind the back, through the legs, etc. Maravich was already better than Cousy and everybody could see it clearly. He was a different level player that had never been seen.
The only old school players that I think would succeed in today’s game are Maravich and Dr J.

I’m sure there are others-wilt, russell, etc. but I was thinking of style of play. Those 2 came to mind as being ahead of their time.

he would be as big and as strong as these guys, if he was in his prime in this era, so yes.

He's 89. He'd get embarrassed.

Not if he ISO's on to Harden

He'd probably be like Steve Nash/Ricky Rubio or someone like that, dude was a pure 1, not a 1 playing like a 2 as so many are currently

Yes.
Do you really think Jeff Teague or Elfrid Payton would be better than a transplanted Bob Cousy?

I'm watching videos of him and he's legitimately not even playing the same sport. Nothing he's doing(taking the defense these guys are playing) gives me a reason to believe he could make an NBA team in 2018.

Yes. Any current NBA player would be looked at like an Superman style alien.
In Cousy's era, it wasn't a big deal to be 6'9 and barely able to dunk. Wilt Chamberlain was viewed as incredibly big and strong at 7'1, 250.
The presumptive #1 pick (Ayton) this year was bigger and stronger as a high school senior than peak Wilt.
