Agreed
That’s why if you actually click the tweet, it doesn’t say Cam

no way would I trade the rights to Burrow.
He is either a once every 5 years (or best since Mahomes anyway) QB or I wouldn't feel bad if he turned out to not be. You have to take your shot with him if you have it.

Who says they made a mistake? The Rams got to a SB with Goff. And the Eagles won one and before you say Foles "won it, Wentz was the favorite for League MVP when he got hurt. I see no reason to think they wouldn't have won it with him but even if not, i doubt they are 13-3 and the 1 seed with Foles all year. The Titans got Henry and Corey Davis out of the Goff deal, they made the AFCCG this year but were 9-7 maybe a good deal for both. the Browns were 1-31 the first 2 years after trading the pick for Wentz they got a whole lot of nothing
But you are still missing the point. The market has been set. If the trade proposal is the #7 pick and McCaffery for the #1 pick, its the BENGALS who should hang up the phone laughing hysterically. If Carolina wanted the pick and Cincy took that offer the Panthers should take it IMMEDIATELY.

The bengals don't need cam.

QB is the last thing you bring in when you do a rebuild, not the first. The worst thing you can do to a rookie quarterback is put him behind a trash offensive line. If LSU fans really cared about Burrow’s future, they wouldn’t want him hyped up as the number one pick. You’d want him somewhere with a supporting cast like the Chargers, the Raiders, the Vikings, or hell even Dallas.
If you have a guy you think is a franchise QB you take him. You don't have to start him day one. The trash OL part is also a bit overstated but the Bengals last 2 #1 picks were OL. You don't need to spend 5 years building team before draft a QB. You don't need 5 hall of famers upfront for the QB to be good and a good QB can also help make an OL look better.
The worry about the Bengals is the are notoriously cheap. So will they be able to contend at a high level? My first thought was like you, i'd want him just about anywhere else, however from 2012 to 2015 they won 10, 11, 10 and 12 games and that was with Andy Dalton. So if Burrow is better than that (no guarantees) its possible the Bengals could be pretty good.

But again, it’s going to be glorious for me to watch the melts and mental gymnastics.
what a sad pathetic person you must be

What’s even more fun is that he will be coming into the league the same time as Tua and some chickens will be coming home to roost when he pans out and Burrow flounders,
I don't know how old you are but you sound exactly like all those super smart guys that knew for a fact that Ryan Leaf would be better than P Manning
But hey, here's another thought that never crossed your mind, maybe both will be good. However, Tua is being projected to Miami and while the weather is a lot nicer and they have 2 almost 50 year SB trophies, that franchise is maybe even shittier that the Bengals
So we will see

I haven’t missed anything. It’s all trashy clickbait that neither team is or would consider. It’s that time of the year. Some of these big sportswriter hypothetical trade articles that come out this time of year do have valid sensible trades with both parties involved. But the vast majority are dumb and exist just to fill a content void and generate clicks. Pretty clear which category this one fits in.

The #7, and McCaffery is a reasonable offer for #1.
The problem is that the Bengals have a very good RB already. That offer wouldn't be considered.

You’re not giving up your starting QB AND the best back in the league for an unproven rookie QB.
only a guy from Carolina would have this opinion.
Cam is worthless. He has zero value. The link references the #7 pick and McCaffery. That's a strong offer, but I think that's what it would take for this #1.
Honestly, I could see Carolina being willing to give up McCaffery. But, the Bengals wouldn't do it because the upgrade from Mixon to McCaffery isn't that big of a leap...plus QBs are exponentially more valuable than RBs.

Cam is worthless. He has zero value.

How is it remotely reasonable? In 2016 the Titans got 2 1s 2 2s and 2 3s from the Rams for the #1 pick in that same draft the Browns got a 1-3-4 in that draft and a 1-2 the next draft from the Eagles for the #2 pick. And as you mentioned the Bengals already have a RB they will probably over pay stupidly so why in the world would they want another one?
I think people are starting to confuse fantasy football with real football

Fantasy football and Madden have really skewed people's ability to understand trade value.

In the NFL, you almost NEVER see superstars traded. Guys like McCaffery simply aren't traded.
Because of that, you are undervaluing McCaffery. Putting him in a deal with the #7 is a HUGE offer...comparable to the Rams / Titans deal.

They wouldn't. That's what I said.

What do you think the trade market is for Cam (in draft picks)?

In fairness its not just McCaffery I'm undervaluing, I do not value any RB

Wow. Mac is a stud on a shitty team. Put him on a decent offense and he would explode. But I agree with how the are used in today's NFL. We need more Chuck Foreman's.
Posted on 2/14/20 at 12:18 pm to dukke v
He's awesome but he already "exploded". I still wouldn't want to pay him
