How the hell do you know that? Do the Vikings win if one of those calls are correctly called? The only reason YOU think it is more obvious is because it happened under 2 minutes to YOUR team. As a whole that 09 game was way more controversial, but you can’t see it because you don’t want to. Just call somebody stupid. Real brilliant.

Which one? The missed pass interference or the missed facemask on Goff the series before

Would have been inadvertent per former rules and the league has made a conscious effort to not call them since removing the 5yd inadvertent and only having the 15yd variety enforceable. There were enough "close calls" in this game to reshape that final sequence depending on who you wanted to win. It's a six point game at minimum if they call the PI on the prior Saints possession when Ginn was held during his cut and again when the ball was in the air. The Rams don't make it into the red zone if they call holding on #79 on the third down conversion to Cooks. I'm sure any Saints fan though will give you that inadvertent face mask for that PI/Personal Foul that the entire sports world is talking about. I'll take the Saints at the five down four with under 2:00 to play all day as will most if not all Saints fans. Trying to equate any of the other missed calls to that one is being contrarian for contrarians sake.

Time makes thing fuzzy, but that game officiating was just as talked about if not more than yesterday’s game.

No your fandom is making things fuzzy. Nationally officiating was barely mentioned. The only real officiating narrative was about the OT rule not being fair which I agreed with. And that offseason the league changed the OT rule requiring a first possession TD to end the game in OT.

Holy crap dude. Yeah, whatever the Saints were screwed, are the greatest, whatever, but I’m biased? Recency bias is the last thing I’ll say about it. Look it up.

That link says only one call might have been blown and that the ref might've swallowed his whistle because of an earlier call. That's more of a judgement call than a blatant PI on a helmet to helmet hit.

Ok so your right, I agree with you.

The Vikings are in the club of NFL teams that lost a conference championship game or super bowl when the other team benefited from a few questionable/bad calls that could have changed the outcome of the game. That club has at least 20-25 other teams in it, including....the 2019 KC Chiefs.

The 2019 Saints are alone as losing directly due to a single call that NO ONE IS DEFENDING and many people are calling the worst NFL officiating mistake of all time given the circumstances.

Summary: your beef might be valid, but its not in the same universe of the one play yesterday.

You’re only bitter about this because there’s nothing to cheer for in Mississippi other than Brett Favre

That PI on Leber was the definition of uncatchable

Could that have been a no call? Absolutely. But it was 1st and 10 at the Min. 41. That call put the Saints in better FG range, but it's not as if they didn't have two more downs to do that even if PI wasn't called. At most, the no call means 2nd and 10 at Min. 41.

Two game changers and a possible 14 point swing

The Saints PUNTED on the possession after getting the interception on the play in which Favre was hurt. Could Min. have scored had the drive stayed alive? Maybe. But it didn't directly lead to points for the Saints.

Unlike the Leber PI, yesterday's non-call was on 3rd and 10. The no-call forced the Saints to kick the FG on fourth down. Had it been called, the Saints would have run the clock down to just a few seconds and tried what would have been the game winning FG. Simply put, LA doesn't get the ball back without the missed called.

In the grand scheme of blown/noncalls calls, that game just doesn't belong on the list. Noncalls happen in most games. Go back to the ATL/SF NFCCG where Roddy White didn't get the PI call when the Falcons were on like the 8yd line. That noncall was equally as bad and basically cost ATL a super bowl appearance.

The call last night was much worse.

Your post is perfect and makes the point perfectly. I posted this earlier:

I remember that being a rough call and I would probably put that Falcons team in this club.

But like you acknowledged last night was in a different universe.

All of this pales in comparison to the NBA refs and the fix of Miami over Dallas in the 2006 finals.

Not one bad call, not one bad game, but an entire series of bad refereeing that was clearly in Miami’s favor.

clip of block extra point

2016 broncos Saints. The refs missed the grab and pull on the snapper and missed the returner stepping out of bounds.

The refs that game are the same ones from last night....

2006 - Heat/Mavs (dwade 96 free throws)
2011 - Cards/Rangers (delaying game 6 by one day due to a weather system that never happened)

Yes I’m bitter
