That's a good old fashioned lubeless raw-dogging.

Instant replay on TV has been around since the 60s. Replay review by the officials has only been around since the 2000s. This thread could be as endless as people's memories.

Goff's facemask wasn't "grasped" so by rule it is not a penalty.
hate to say it but yes it was, you can clearly see his head get yanked.

Not a championship game but about a decade ago:
Oklahoma recovered an onside kick against Oregon and somehow they awarded the ball to Oregon, who then went down the field to score and win.
Hell, two years ago Clemson ran a pretty obvious pick play (OPI) that let Clemson score the game winning TD on the last play, and that was a championship impacting non-call (although not nearly as egregious as some of the others listed)

This. Every time I see a horrible call reversed by replay I think back to the world before replay. Hideously terrible calls were made all the damn time and changed tons of games.
Instant replay has greatly reduced the number of horrible officiating mistakes that unjustly decide games.

Roy Jones Jr in the Olympics

That fight was just fixed. One blown call is one thing, but that was 3 rounds of domination ignored.
"Several journalists made sworn statements that judge Hiouad Larbi of Morocco commented after the match indicating that he acknowledged that Jones won easily, but chose to rule in favor of Park in order to placate the South Korean spectators.[2][3] Two of the three judges voting for Park were eventually banned from the sport for life"
Yeah, fixed boxing results are a whole different category. Unlike all the other conspiracy theories, boxing history is full of high profile legitimately rigged fights.

Some assumed Jones Jr earlier prelim fight cockiness couod have played a part as well. This wasn't a costly officiating error.

Galarraga's Near Perfect Game - Jim Joyce Blows Call
This is the first one that comes to mind
Only time I have probably ever felt bad for an umpire. Jim Joyce was genuinely remorseful and was in tears when he apologized for missing that call and took all the blame for it. Galarraga was also a very good sport about it, so kudos to both of them.

Pass interference on Joe Hayden vs the saints.
Was in the first half of a regular season game. The Steelers were the most dysfunctional team in the league, their star WR wants out, their star RB didnt want to play, their QB is a fat rapist. They lost to the Raiders.
Don't even try to compare that shite.

2012 Braves-Cardinals Wild Card Game. Infield fly call. I've never lost my shite in a stadium like that before or after.

I knew OSU/Miami would get added even though it was probably the right call and there was the call against OSU that didn't let them salt it away in regulation.
As I've always said, say what you want about the PI or the bad call against OSU, Miami was first and goal from the 1 in Double OT; if you can't get in you don't deserve to win

The rule allows for a brief "grasp".
If a player grasps an opponent’s facemask, he must immediately release it. If he does not immediately release it and controls his opponent, it is a foul.
Klein immediately let go of the facemask....that is unless you live in a world where human actions take place in super slow motion

The Brady roughing the passer call was on 2nd and 7, not 3rd and 8. It was a terrible call but I hate when people lie about the circumstances to make things seem even worse cuz they know no one looking at that meme is gonna fact check. Just straight bullshite.
