One of these is Yadier Molina. Two others have been rival catchers throughout Molina's career, and the fourth is Benito Santiago.

None are Hall of Fame numbers

.281/.333/.404, 160 HR, 66 SB, 6.6 BB%, 10.3 K%, .321 wOBA, 99 wRC+
.248/.349/.397, 191 HR, 101SB,11.9 BB%, 18.2 K%, .330 wOBA,104 wRC+
.263/.307/.415, 217 HR, 91 SB, 5.7 BB%, 16.9 K%, .315 wOBA, 91 wRC+
.262/.337/.452, 282 HR, 25 SB, 9.3 BB%, 15.4 K%, .340 wOBA,110 wRC+

Edit: If you cant figure out which one is Benito Santiago, then that should settle the argument.

I guess Cubs but that offense has to have Bryant and Baez bounce back.

Bryant will not be back. Cubs made a very generous offer that Boras turned down and he has been trending downward each year since 2016. He was absolutely awful this year, did not really want to play from the start and showed by sitting out with minor injuries several times. He's out.

Cubs have ridden that core group of young position players since 2015 and it's played out. Hitting is broken, wholesale changes to the lineup are needed and there is no choice anymore.

Molina is the 12th catcher with 2,000 hits.

He's top 5 postseason hits all time.

Just stop. This argument is so fricking stupid and over.

quote:

Yadier Molina's rank among catchers during his career (2004-now) ...

Hits: 2,000 (2nd)
Doubles: 381 (2nd)
Homers: 160 (4th)
RBIs: 932 (2nd)
AVG: .281 (3rd)

Over past 10 seasons (2011-now) . . .

Hits: 1282 (1st)
Doubles: 259 (1st)
Homers: (8th)
RBIs: 607 (1st)
AVG: .289 (3rd)

The bottom one is just for the Posey gap even though 1/3rd of his games are at 1st.

So ignorant.

Luckily he's easily getting in and that thread is going to be glorious for all of you that don't actually know baseball very well.

There’s no Eric Gregg to save the Marlins this time.

The AL and NL Central sent SEVEN teams to the postseason this year

• Brewers
• Cardinals
• Cubs
• Indians
• Reds
• Twins
• White Sox

They were all eliminated in the Wild Card round

Molina has 40 career WAR. And it's unlikely that will move up much at his age. So he's a borderline HOF candidate who will have to wait a long time if he ever gets in.

Santiago was a real pain in the arse in the 2002 NLCS.
