he's there because he can play every position.

how many guys are out there that can play every position and aren't battling for a roster spot?

Well, I guess all of these 'dominicans' can take off their DR gear and will be back tomorrow wearing PR gear still playing their annoying arse horns.

For God's sake, we don't have a better utility guy than Bloomquist? The GM of this team should be banned from baseball. The roster is poorly put together. I don't know what type of compensation is given to the players, but something has to give. We are so worried about pitch counts and injuries that we ignore the real problem.....development of youth players fundamentals. The next guy needs to load up with some crazies that have some national pride and say frick it. Go kick some arse.

How dare the Dominican team defeat the country that pays them enough money to collectively rule their homeland. They should either play for the U.S. or GTFO.

and it's not just having a better utility guy than Bloomquist who isn't competing for a roster spot...you also have to find a guy who is willing to sit on the bench for two-three weeks during spring training. a veteran like Bloomquist who already comes off the bench is about the only guy who'd do that

How many American utility men do you think there are? Outside of Zobrist and Bloomquist, who else is there?

People can say what they want about the roster, but it's still the best collection of talent in the WBC. They just aren't executing.

He just came out recently and pretty much said this.. He guaranteed he will absolutely play in the next one

Can't play with these guys? He's already one of the best American players in baseball.

He didn't play this one because he's never gone through a full Spring training

There are about 8 American outfielders I would choose over Harper.
