Pathetic bitching on here. We took Hockey from Canada. Venezuela took Baseball from the USA. Can’t win them all. Congratulations Venezuela. Great tournament.

And downvote if you like but good for Venezuela and their fans. Do you think the US would be showing that kind of raw emotion? I doubt it.

I have never watched the WBC prior to this year but I have really enjoyed it, mainly how much the crowds have gotten into the games. Love that at sporting events.

Maybe not to the extent of smaller countries that are impoverished, but it was a pretty cool party in the crowd when we beat Puerto Rico to win the 2017 WBC.

Sports means more to those smaller countries, because they aren't used to their country being celebrated on an international stage. It leads to more national pride.
