I doubt that is their workout room. They just placed that there for dramatic impact.

What makes these women’s complaints so annoying is that the only reason they get to play at all is our nation’s commitment to equality.

The actual take they should have is “Thank you NCAA men’s football and basketball for providing funding, so we can play the sport we love.”

Obviously there will be differences but if you can’t even supply a standard hotel style gym, then wtf are you doing

Let's go to the catering tent for Avengers: Endgame vs an independent film and see the difference.

Oh ok. Well now I hope they protest and don’t play! That’ll show us!

Those of you arguing that it's fine to treat the amateur male athletes better than the amateur female athletes because they generate more revenue certainly are making a powerful case in favor of unionization and/or salaries in college sports.

Well they're right. The "weight room" they got is a fricking joke and looks like something a person might have in their guest bedroom.

I have that exact weight set in my guest room... along with a yoga mat and a peloton, so I have a better set up. That’s pretty shitty.

Look, of course they aren't going to get the top of the line weight room but like DollaChoppa said if the NCAA can't even put together a standard hotel weight room than why even insult them with a single weight stand and a couple mats? They'd have been better off just having them use the UTSA fitness center at that point.

The men’s tournament brings in a half-BILLION dollars in revenue. Meanwhile idiots like this Econ professor still thinks this should happen
quote:

There are basically two criteria that the NCAA could apply to its revenue distribution policies. One criterion would hold that this is amateur sports, a subordinated part of the primary educational mission of universities, so victories and championships shouldn't matter. The men who play basketball at North Carolina are no more important than the men or women who play basketball at Wesleyan, so the NCAA should take the money and distribute it equally across all schools, perhaps as a function of the number of intercollegiate athletes at each school. Such a policy would be congruent with the educational mission articulated in the NCAA Constitution and with the tax preferences granted college sports by the IRS.

Glory For Women, Money for Men in NCAA Basketball

They want equal outcomes. They don’t care that one sport is drastically lower in quality. They want “fairness” even that lower quality sport did nothing (actually hurt) to make that money.

No one is making that case by arguing that the men’s tournament creates more revenue, and besides, unions/salaries will end college athletics.

The worst part of this is you could rent some squat racks and machines for like $5000 for the whole tournament. I'm sure a local school or gym would rent you some for cheap.

I'm not saying women should have 100% of what the men get, but you can throw together some squat racks and some bikes for not that expensive.

The deodorant they got was strong enough for a man but pH balanced for a woman.

I agree that unions and salaries would end college sports as we know them. I'm saying that treating supposedly amateur student-athletes differently on the basis of how much revenue they generate will lead to those things because it will prove the argument of union supporters that the actual point of college sports is to make as much money as possible.
