Bad Beats is great.
It is worth being tired on Tuesday from staying up just to watch it.

The strategy works because you're using the secondary bet as a hedge. For example, here's what I posted about Texas/OU this past weekend
The game closed OU +2.5 and O/U 44.5. There was almost no scenario where that game was going over and Texas was covering -2.5. They ended up scoring 23 thanks to a D/ST TD which happens in about 10% of games
Given how unlikely it was that the total would go over AND Texas win, as the offense is shite, the +EV bet was clearly OU & Under.
If the game was close at HT, which it was 6-3 OU, you could close OU +2.5 for roughly even money and ride with the O/U. If the under was in jeopardy, it almost 100% meant Texas wasn't covering -2.5 as the most likely way the total got into the mid 40's was Oklahoma scoring >24, which would have resulted in a push. A third scenario was OU wins a low scoring game and both bets win. The only way both bets lose was OU essentially giving Texas 10+ points via D/ST while OU still played well enough to score into the 20's themselves, something very unlikely as those 2 events usually don't coincide.
The strategy effectively uses O/U's for hedging and looks to cash out one of the bets early if they're at risk based on how the game is playing out, while if both are left open they have intrinsic hedge properties on one another while still having a chance of hitting together
But even not using the cashing out strategy, those bets still went 49-29 over the last 2 weeks

OU +2.5 and under is the right bet, but if Mateer plays the game script needs to be watched closely for potentially closing that under early. Texas only wins in a low scoring, dogfight, which would be close throughout and +2.5 could be closed in the 3rd for close to even money and you’ll profit on O/U. OU could win with it going over, which is why that under needs to managed carefully. But OU and U has intrinsic hedge properties

Im guessing you’ve never actually paid attention to the segment. It’s absolutely not stuff that just happens to betters every day

Van Pelt does bet money. He talks about it on his podcast all the time.

Pretty sure it’s not meant to be his bad beats

Come on, man, that segment about Lamar/ETAMU is hilarious.
"Pitchy Pitchy Woo Woo" and "WEEEEEEE" is hysterical.

Why else would anyone ever play highlights of Lamar and East Texas A&M?

Don’t tell the MSB- they eat this shite up obviously, by the down votes. Since sports gambling is at our fingertips, everyone has bad beat weekly/daily. But these knuckleheads need SVP to show a Lamar or Kennsaw State bad beat like this dude really gives a shite about these teams and are entertained by it.

If you feel that strongly, I guess the best solution is just to change the channel. It’s not that hard. Just a button or two.

if bettors paid attention, they might learn something about sucker lines like liberty -9.5 and o/u 47.5 tomorrow. liberty and under is so obvious, until you consider the probability of the game being ~30-14 late in the 4Q with new mexico state going up against liberty's 2's playing prevent
This didnt age well and is nothing like how the game went. The obvious play was over and NMST +

Why are you so confused about all of this lol
You’re creating a problem where one doesn’t exist
